just think about it...u throw a napalm grenade into a crowd of stupid enemies, and watch them burn up until they die.


u can pick it up as a power up just like grenade, health kit, etc. when u do have it, and u throw it, what the napalm grenade does is that when it hits the ground on impact, it would be like cluster grenade, except instead of little clusters that come out, LOTS of flames come out of the grenade. and if anyone touches the flames, they will be set on fire for a period of time.

-its not like the napalm grenades would kill u instantly if u do get hit by it. -.-

-if u DO get hit by it, it would take at least 3 seconds to die instantly by the flames. (well, I dont call that instantly)

-get a med pack, and there u go: instant health. and no more fear of becoming a burnt pizza to worry about.

I actually like this idea, but im not sure if it would be worth implementing. Plus, I don't know if it would be worth it because of the cluster grenade being so close to this idea.
Are you 9 years old? Or is that just your mental age.

Yeah, i see what you mean.
But MAYBE, just MAYBE, in a newer version, getting a flame god power up then getting grenades (either kind) could prevoke this effect instead of a whole new power up? That would make Flame God even awesomer.

EDIT: Is awesomer even a word?

Hmm Napalm Grenades...

Actually, you have to admit it, this idea is pretty cool. I mean, imagine grenades which, when explode, burst into large flames that can burn people, as though they were burnt by a flamer. However... I'm going to say F11.

1. Cluster Grenades
Cluster grenades are already very similar to this idea. I think the fact below also applies to the cluster grenade.

2. Frag Grenades
You know the normal grenades? Sometimes, there is a chance that if you KILL someone with a grenade, their corpses will be on fire. I mean, not as in the fire from Flamer, but small little fires that toast the corpse, like the small flames you see when you equip your Flamed Arrows or shoot them.

3. Scripting
I don't know if it's possible, but maybe it can be, making grenades not only explode but also release flames.

4. Flame Lag
The flames will cause massive lag in the current Soldat versions, but THIS WILL BE FIXED IN 1.5.

I think it would find who the grenade hit then spawn "flame" bullets on them? I'm not totally sure, but maybe.

You could script it, kind of.

You could spawn flams when the nade/cluster hits someone, but not when the nade/cluster hits a collider, poly, ties out, etc, etc..

So it wouldn't look like a napalm. And spawning flames on someone wouldn't work very well unless the flame-crappyness gets fixed some time.

Flames tend not to work in Soldat, remember?  Soldatens are immune to fire.

In relatively bad ping it's enough to make flames not work properly. But in very low pings or if the bots are the ones attacking you, you'd die, REAL easily.

- Likely scriptable anyway
- Ever throw 4 grenades on one spot and then hit them with an m79?  *FOOM*  Total Burnination.

However, I do like the spawn-killing potential a napalm grenade might have.  It would have to be a one-time powerup, like the holy hand grenade or something.

Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake.  Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it."

Why not just fix the Soldat code for the Weapons.ini so if you rig the nades as "shooting" bullettype = flamer flame then you'll get a flam0nade instead? =.=

Not that it really matters but I believe the flame lag is only related to the polygons with the flame property.

Errm no. It also applies to the Flamer you use when you have Flame God but probably not as much. The lag is especially the case for Flamer if you play in maybe large zombie games where every single bot would catch fire and die and cause lots of lag.
