Invisible skin gave an advantage to the people who used it because their heads weren't visible peeking over scenery and what have you, so it in effect make their gostek appear slightly smaller and allowed them to conceal themselves much more effectively than those who did not use it.
Thankfully, the ability to use it was removed a few versions ago.
