Clueless to Gostek

I would absolutely love to make my own gosteks, BUT i am having a bit of mental blunder.

The actual .bmps for it all look a WHOLE lot different to me than what they appear in game. :'(

Could anyone give me some ideas on how to modify these images? ???

Color the pieces one bright solid color at first [make sure each piece is colored differently so you don't have them mushing together which is just as confusing] and then set your player to white so that you can see in-game exactly how the pieces are oriented.
