It really isn't a bad anime. But it suddenly burst into filler hell somewhere and there's 100~ episodes of complete bullpooe. Just avoid those, and it's a nice watch. Give it a try unless you are afraid of clueless people on the internet's negative opinion.

@ Captain Ben. If you were into this kind of stuff, you whould know why sub is much better than dub.
The language sounds great, and it fits in way better with the setting in the anime's. Dubbed anime is usually imported from Japan, butchered and grinded into some child-friendly piss that they air on TV, where every voice actor is painfully talentless, and fail to capture the personality of the character COMPLETELY.

Hate to over-hype Death Note once again, but Ryuk was awesome in both Japanese and English. If you don't have that laugh ingrained in your mind whenever you think of Death Note, I don't know what will.

So far, Black Lagoon was one of the best dubs I've heard. One.

But I agree with you on the sub vs dub bit. (Pan's Labyrinth would be half as amazing if there were english dubs...)

I have gotten so sick of dubs, subtitles are awesome since I basically watch everything on my computer. I don't miss anything even if its a retardedly large amount of text. <3 pause.

Learn to read fast!

I'm so good at reading subtitles, that they no longer really get in the way of the mood and the story the movie wants to convey.
