Well it's obvious that HT has a very conventional taste for what is acceptable from an artistic perspective, and it's not like what he or anyone says is a 'must-do.' I'm a fan of the design but if you had more time to refine, I might suggest redoing the vest-bar so that the outline is in black but fills with a yellow bar. Background may be transparent; opens up the possibility that the vest counter not be fully outlined, but rather just slightly bookended on both sides with the same L-bend motif you're repeating elsewhere.
