socks5 proxy crap

So I'm trying to use socks5 proxies, but I simply can't get it to work. I'm using FreeCap and I keep getting connection refused. I don't know if this is cause the server is no longer operating or what, cause I don't really know anything. Frikin school blocks everything and so I can't play ANYTHING online EVER. Any advice would be awesome ;D thanks!

meh, just use Torpark. It's a mini version of Firefox which has the tor proxy daemon built in and is made for being stuck on a flash drive. In 8th grade, I loved showing off getting to MySpace with it.

well the necessary ports are blocked for things like that. I'm looking to not only be able to play games like runescape on blocked sites, but also play soldat. so....;D pls

sigh, let me explain things for you simple people. I go to bording school therefore my school computer is the only computer I use for everything. better? good! frikin 4 year olds are so assumptious sigh.

Tunneling Soldat through a proxy would be laggy as hell since that entails sending each and every packet through someone else, probably hundreds, if not thousands, of miles away.

You're better off surfing porn than getting ping kicked on each server you [attempt to] join.

yea I know, but my fiddleing consisted of trying loads of different variations of things and checking and unchecking it was one of the alterations I used throughout my fiddleing

There's a difference between using them for normal non-school stuff like e-mail/chat and playing games. The latter makes you 'that kid who plays online games at lunch break'.

Look who's talking. Cheap shot, I know, but it's the truth.

And I don't because more than half of the school computers consist of Linux and Mac computers, and what's relevant about that statement is I don't know them as well as jrgp does.
