What is up with people in like every thread fighting over something stupid just to prove that they are right? It's okay in threads that are debatable but i'm talking about threads about like software. Why do people gotta just be right. If someone says your wrong in a thread to be a dick, why not just ignore them. But no some times we have 2 fucking pages of bullshit in a thread where 2 guys are going at it. And flaming. wtf? Every chance some of you get to flame someone, you end up taking it. Why? Sometimes the guys asking for it, but most of the time thats not the case.

Because of people who don't know what trolls are who self-righteously plow on with an argument they think they're winning.

There are 3 kinds of people.

People who think they know what they're talking about.

People who pretend they know what they're talking about.

And finally, people who actually do know what they're talking about.

Unfortunately the majority of people fall into the first two categories and argue amongst themselves. The pretenders are so insecure of appearing as if they don't know what they are talking about that they resort to flaming to detract attention from the point. The people who think they know what they're talking about (but don't really) defend their point so fiercely and ignorantly that they also resort to flaming.

The people who genuinely know what they're talking about just walk over everybody else with ease and don't need to flame. They make their point with minimal effort and don't dwell on arguing unless it's for their own amusement.

Here's my theory.
Few reasons, people like me who post in topics and usually know what they're talking about, but sometimes get flamed, adding flames without actually flaming.
Trolls who flame because they want to prove they have a big e-Penis.
The impossibility to convey sarcasm/other verbal things over the intrawebz. (See: 4-years post)
Captain Ben and Co. who are like the super flamers, though captain ben is in his own category because he's not actually being serious. (I think)
And the random other people that don't fit in above categories. (Mods, a few others)
