Recording and turning to .gif?
« on: June 09, 2006, 10:15:25 pm »
I was wondering if you guys know any free programs that I can record my comp, and then turn it into .gif? or something that takes a quick screenshot in every small interval, and then I can turn it into .gif myself after?

thanks in advance

I used to have a program like this, but it saved to a movie file and not a .GIF.
I used a seperate program to extract the frames (Ifranview, Google it) and another to convert them into a .GIF sequence.
I'll edit in with links in a tad.
Edit:
Better yet, go to SoftPedia and browse for what suits your purposes best.

I can't seem to find a program that does that.  Do you mind giving me the name?

Fraps can record your screen into an avi movie: http://soldatmods.edgegaming.com/integramod/dload.php?action=file&file_id=30

And Gif Movie Gear can load .avi's , i suggest u delete a lot of frames (animation --> thin) and use the optimize function(at the end) to reduce the size.

I do not think there is any such program that does this all in one hit, you will need a couple at leat like Serial Killer said.
