[Question:]
Which free IRC program do you recommend using? I consider using it in future, possibly for Soldat gathers.
I'm using mIRC combined with NoNameScript.

@STM, most people use mIRC http://www.mirc.com/
Is it really free? When I downloaded it and opened it after installation, I saw "30 days left". I don't want trial versions.

irssi is fine too
I'll try it out, thanks.
EDIT: Looks really complex, and I'm not script expert. How do I use it?
EDIT 2: Nevermind, I just found out that the mIRC is still functional after 30 days, just that it has a nag screen.

Thanks guys.

mIRC fails at that, you can use it even after that, but occasionally it will tell you "your mIRC copy has expired and will close"
After you close it, just start it again.

My computer has been freaking out lately. Namely it's been freezing up for 10+ seconds at seemingly random times (usually ~3 minutes apart), as well as displaying things wrongly, mostly fonts (attached image is just one symptom).
It does this on both windows and linux, making me think it's a hardware issue.

The computer is 6-7 years old, so if this means I'll need a new box then it won't be the end of the world.

Anyone here ever seen anything like this before or do I need to make another computer-part mobile for my roof out of this beastie?

I second this. I exclusively switched to it from xchat, and am loving it. I frequently go back and forth between several machines, and I can just ssh into my main file server with irssi running under screen and resume my session. And if that isn't perfect enough, irssi is customizable as hell, which is very cool and convenient.

"universal"? If by that you mean a client that supports everything, then Pidgin as it supports the normal aim/yim/msn/icq/qq/irc and with plugins xfire, facebook, myspace, and dozens more.

It also works on Windows/Linux. There is a mac fork of it too.

Is it true that the first part of a man a woman notices for the first time are his shoes?

That myth is pretty old, probably from back in the good days were women used to scrub the floors on their hands and knees, so that they see his shoes before the rest of his body.

Most women say his face or his hair.

I always notice it to be the latter.

How do I block someone from repeatedly emailing me garbage? Is there a way I can add the person to ignore or block them, so I never receive their emails again?

Thanks in advance.

Figured it out! Thanks.

It's really a gif image. Someone just changed the file extension to .jpg, which has no effects on the file's contents whatsoever.

Maybe because your fly is down?

That would explain the stifled laughter.

No, I'm sorry, but still, I couldn't help it; you set me up for that one. Besides, that was a dumb post.
