Isnt more dangerous that a big nuke explodes without any reason? Somewhere in the world, that'd be a fkin disaster, why care about this?

It is all over the news and there are people filing things with several courts to have it stopped hehe.

Those guys can die chocking on their own balls..

What happens if they did prove that the "higgs boson" exists, there is close to no real life application for quantum mechanics.

Yep, people should start worrying about real dangers.

I find that what these "scientists" are trying to do is peculiar. It's interesting too see, true, but what's the point of it all? Is it just a quest for knowledge, or is it a part of a larger plan? Just a thought.

Hath endures torment,
To find the end of the journey in my own salvation.
And Your eternal slumber.

Science is always a quest for knowledge.  Why else would we care what was on the bottom of the ocean, or if there are other planets that can support life?

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Many of you are saying that this is just a waste of money. Sure, it won't heal cancer and poo, but I've read somewhere that the discoveries of these new particles might lead us to controlling the gravity.

Controlling the gravity! And I'm totally serious about that.

Best Image Ever Made

IMAGES

it's the best one ever made

It just blows me away. We get not only the subtle wit of the title, but then the punch line at the bottom rephrasing it to beat it into the ground!

*edit* feck off flamingo. If you can't enjoy any humor more sophisticated than a fart joke then you can go somewhere else.
