Converting PNG to desktop icon (vista)

I tried that website but I think it's just for webpages..

but yer I looked around, googled and googled, and there is no freakin way for me to change my uTorrent icon (I mean it looks like sh*t now..)

btw this is what I want to convert, a 256x256 .PNG image.  I would like to be able to right click, > properties > shortcut > browse > and select this as an "Icon" file so it can be used.  Possible??  I'm sure vista will re-size it.. and I would be able to use it on my dock.

No. Just download and install Gimp, open this thing in it, Resize it to 32*32, and save it as a .ico file. Voila.

Like jprg said you can do it with Gimp but to get the full size/best quality in small, normal, large and extra large icon views you better use different layers with the different sizes:



 download ico
(only works in vista because it uses compressed images because otherwise large and extra large icons weren't full size)
