ctf_Ge Hinnom

By Jammang

Description:
Poorly Waypointed. Been working on this map on and off for months, it started as some random lines I drew in polyworks which I kept adding polygons to, then sceenery, then more polygons, then more scenery. Eventually it grew into this, perhaps an abomination, something that was never meant to be... Only time will tell.

Disclaimer:
I give permission for everyone to copy, rename, edit, reupload as their own or do whatever they want with my map. I am giving this map to the community as is, and do not wish to work on it any more. If anyone feels they can add to this map and rerelease a better version please do so, but until then lets play.

What the hell is going on here?

The map's layout is far too complicated to even consider it fun.
The visuals are simplistic and nice, though.

I give you ten of ten points for the look of it. The Layout is rather complicated, but i think matches could be interesting.

The Look completly reminds me of a star wars movie. Dunno maybe IV or V . =)

<Vig> its more like a pipe themed map
<Vig> all your pipes are belong to us

<Vig> also how the flying fuck do you get out of the flag tunnel
<Vig> alive I mean

<Vig> you can throw it of course but your teammates will be too lost to see you doing that
<Vig> the match will be long over before you find the enemy flag
<Vig> or if you do, you'll be too bored trying to catch the efc

At some parts it looks ok, especially rock scenery looks nice, at some parts it looks ugly. The layout is very messy...

@Suowarrior: I think the layout is not messy or chaotic, I think it´s well done, u can see where to run :)

This is just... nuts. Weirdest map I've ever seen. Excellent visuals... but completely fucked layout. I can see a lot of effort, which I congratulate you for; but yeah, the gameplay will be fun as hell but absolutely... bizarre. From the looks of this, I think I might like future maps of yours.

Keep it up!

I congragulate you for the heavy use of scenery for your...first map?

Anyway, the idea of adding polygons to the map over time would eventually lead to having a map with too many routes, and too much confusion as to where you're supposed to go. Especially having to memorize the fastest routes to the flag is a chore. I can't stress how much you must plan your next CTF layout the next time you make a map. Try not to spend too much time dawdling on the polygon work, since you lose track of which layout you were going for in the first place.

Yes, this map is bizarre. Yes, you did put some work in it. I award you three gold stars. Out of five.

Blue Ninja, I dont think, that THAT is his first map, normaly ur first map looks like lego, this map has shading ... background, good scenery (short: it´s good looking) and so on, the waypoints are correct, no MapMakingN00b does something like that ... my meaning at this :D

Actually my first map was pretty neat, I hope I could be able to upload it here someday.

About this, well... Yeah it is complicated, not going to work for 3vs3 matches, publics might be another thing.

It's maps like these that make the minimap underappreciated.

Crazy map, but still very well done!

I would remove most of the scenerys, and make the routes simple

Agreed about the routes, somewhat (I like a good confusing game every now and then.), disagreed about the scenery. Its gorgeous.

Very interesting observation about changing the routes like that, thank you for the visuals. I have been wondering whether or not it would be worthwhile if someone revised my map or if it would just be wasted time and much easier to use the same atmospheric style for a new map. any thoughts?

ps. if anyone feels it would be worthwhile to modify this map, please do so, but I've finished editing it now.
