Barret should be ALMOST exactly as it is now, BUT it shouldn't have such an spray effect, as it is often used in TW (or other long maps). It is SO annoying that you jump out of the spawn (safe) place and you will get shot from enemy spawn.
To "solve" it, barrett should get a bit weaker when travelling that much. Some guys who are good at this get 40+ kills without even moving out of their spawn base. And most of their shots actually hit.
Though I'm a Barrett-hater (H) it's my only complainment for this weapon, as its delay is quite good- it can get sprayed through and gets kills if needed. (still a bit overused)

Good Idea, but I don't know If others think this suh a big problem.  Maybe you should just try a differen server, were people don't spawn.  Or find ways to counter their spawn.

But your Idea is a good one, maybe it should be a bit weaker for the barret.

I am one of the people in TW who kills from base spawn to the enemy base spawn, so I resent your comment on there.

Indeed, since the majority of the "unofficial modes" have modded weapons anyways. :P

Another note, a suggestion for you would be to contact the owner of the server.
If it's eC TW, contact EnEsCe, though I doubt he'll do anything just because 1 person is complaining.

Well, Barrett used to have a little recoil in one of the previous versions, and that made spawning like this impossible. But some people complaint and recoil was removed. I am not sure whether I agree with them or not.

Anyway, can I ask some mod to move this topic to place where it belongs, that is to Weapons Balance forum?

When they're literally traveling faster than humans can react, yes.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT TW. IT IS ABOUT THE BARRETT'S CAPABILITY OF KILLING FROM BLIND SHOTS.

Yes, balancing based on TW would be stupid. But he just used that as an example. I for one am all for preventing campers getting easy kills shooting at spawn points across the entire map in any gamemode.

A Barrett shot speed after going across the whole map should be reduced to the point of not be able to kill anyone, just hurt him, so wtf are you talking about? Sometimes this feature, unique for this weapon is needed to clean the bunkers.

By the way, sniper is kind of useless in mid-air if you are noob with it or a single bullet hits you, you want to nerf it even more?

But the barret isn't the issue here but the design of the maps for TW mode. Mappers should make something to prevent the long snipe shots.

I thought that it already did that, I coulda sworn damage was dealt based on speed. Maybe just increase this more. I guess you could... I don't see a real point to this, but I don't see a real not point to this, so it gets ye olde F11.5. (I thought this was gonna be some rage thread about GUIZ I GOT RAPEZORD BY TEH BARET NERF PLOX)

I think LAW's even worse. Explosion that kills you from outside the bunker wtf. Basically, I think long range barrett and law shots are part of tw, I feel comfortable with them. The best way to avoid these are to emerge from hiding spots at the right timing i.e. between shots. Or, get tons of automatic firepower, no sniper can survive that bink:)

While in other game modes this seldom happens. Ususally happens in maps like ctf_Run (I don't remember the others), especially annoying in tunnels. But most maps are not straight open plains so I don't see there's any problem.

Besides, Barrett has experienced some major nerf already, no need to bother it anymore imo.

I agree with Gotfryd, no recoil on a one kill, fire from the hip weapon doesn't make sense. I mean, it's got 50 cal rounds, if you don't break your arm firing it from the hip, it should atleast have some recoil.

Oh, forgot to mention, I support adding a little recoil to it too. But not too much, just the right amount to affect long range blind shots.

I agree. And unless it's somewhere really easy like the Equinox tunnel, the Barretters really deserve that kill if they manage to hit someone blindly with a weapon as slow as that.
