Every weapon loses speed (therefore damage, too) after going a long distance (I tried it with steyr in R/S [same weapon mod as TW]). Barrett just has so much damage that unless you shoot so far that the bullet goes off the screen it will 1 hit kill a 100 hp no vest player.

Bah, yet another thread on weapons BALANCE in the suggestions forum.

First of all, if you've been playing enough realistic games, TW (which is only a small unofficial part of Soldat) or (especially) R/S , you'd realize that many use long-ranged weapons, because most shots are blind shots. Making a Barrett unable to kill even one person at full-health at long-range is stupid - then what's the point of a sniper? You'd might as well use a Ruger. Not that I support spawnkilling, but that's the truth

Secondly, unless its really cheap and easy, there's no reason for such a good long-ranged shot to be undeserved. Thirdly, if you think you can spawnkill so easily, it's got to be a problem with the map if it allows such easy spawnkills.

Barrett is special in the sense that it loses very little damage when going at a long distance, even after travelling really far away, which is enough to kill a full-health player unless he has a vest. Even if you can't kill someone in normal like that, in realistic, it WILL kill no matter how far because the damage is also 495 like in normal but in realistic the health is not 150 units, but only 60 units.

just vote a map which has defended spawns, what else to say
well, the aug and minimi are much more amazing at blind shots (and kills) its called spraying
what else to say?
use polys for protection, try to use law at possible sniper bi bink them/kill them/ push them and then rush, now, if u die so by a blind barret shot ill eat a chocolate, if not, ill eat two chocolates
note* im a pro at blind barret kills, i just shoot the first bullet, just to shoot it (i dont even aim to kill someone, just to train my aim in air) and i manage lots of times to manage a kill
