Someone should just make a fan app that scans your maps folder and allows you to look through previews of the maps, it'd meet the need specified here by allowing you to find out what the names of some of the maps are when setting up your own server

one thing that might atleast help and be very easy to do, is to put a small icon on the default maps.

I believe it's better if features like this are built in game, because you don't have to search for them (unless there are too many of them and everything becomes messy, but Soldat is far from this).
It's like automatic map downloading: when it didn't exist and in order to play on server with custom maps you had to find and download map manually al the time, it was horrible. Now Soldat is so kind that it does this for us, and I think everyone like it.
