Interesting idea but you'll get disadvantages against other players when your health is low. I mean you won't be able to see clearly while all the others can

red screen is nice but make it so you can see well, maybe with a more light color.

Yeah it blurs out the sides.  When you get to low health and you want to do something productive, you gotta see them quick and react quick...

EDIT:  Good idea though, very original
