Aw, you don't want to have sex with us?

Maybe you...

That depends though. What's the Knock-Knock Christian stance on homosexuality?

Meh, you guys want gore? Cannibal holocaust.
Not enough? Salo.
Man just watch the D-Day part of "Saving Private Ryan". It still makes me drive nuts...

You're not old enough to drive and you're not old enough to watch Saving Private Ryan.

It's odd that half of us here already watched Elfen Lied, which is basically full on nudity, gore, depressing scenes, pedophiliac father, and various other stuff that you would probably avoid watching by themselves. While under 17.

Even if I watched five violent movies in a row, I couldn't be arsed to go outside and kill a dog. Age regulations are a moot point when you're 13 and over.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Hmmm... Saw... Where to begin?

I've NEVER liked "horror" movies of any kind, except when I was really young. I used to like some of the Friday the 13th movies, but looking back, I have no idea why. Most modern horror movies aren't scary at all. They rely on surprising you by quickly cutting to a picture of some disfigured dead person combined with a loud noise, and then quickly cutting away from it, so you're left to think "OMG, WTF WAS THAT!?!?!" Either that, or they just don't make any fuckin sense at all.

Older horror movies I've seen are so horribly done, either because it's simply not a scary concept, the characters are complete morons("hey, there's a killer in my neighborhood, and the power just went out. I think I'll take a shower." By the way, wtf is with all the shower/nude scenes in horror movies?), the acting sucks, or the movie doesn't make much sense. Speaking of which, I saw Nightmare on Elm Street 7 the other day cuz my girlfriend was watching it. Some school gym teacher gets killed. He's in the school at night, and shit starts moving on its own. Rather than even look confused, try to figure out why shit's moving on its own, or getting scared and running for his life, he just kinda stands there and watches as various sports balls and other sports equipment attacks him. Then he gets tied up with a jump rope. Then Freddy Krueger comes in and slashes his back. He dies from a bunch of scratches in his back... What the hell is that?

I'm sorry, but I need some degree of realism/believability in my movies, horror or not. And if I know damn well the situation could never happen, I can't get into it.

Anyway, my take on Saw is this: I like how there's an elaborate plan that's not revealed until the end. It's not really a horror movie. I'm not sure what you'd call it, but I realize it's in a similar category. As far as that goes, it's the only movie of a similar nature that I actually enjoyed at all. The first and second were pretty good. I don't know what's up with the damn puppet either. I like the story behind the movie(what little bit of story there is). I'd never seen anything quite like it before. It seems like they actually put some kind of thought into it, but after the 2nd one, I got sick of seeing people get mutilated by horrible contraptions.

So they're okay movies, but not the best, and certainly not my favorite genre.

I can't be bothered much to watch movies anymore. Almost every new movie that comes out is a total disappointment. I've also noticed they keep either remaking an old movie or taking a story from another medium and turning it into a shitty movie. They're running out of ideas, and they change too much to pay homage to the original, resulting in a big shitfest. Transformers is a perfect example of this.

One last thing: Has anybody out there seen Quarantine? If so, what did you think of it?
