Post how fast you can type in words per minute

I used this:

on most of the tests I got around 60 words/min

I got 80 wpm on that Facebook typing test thing. Usually I get between 70 and 75 though.
I have a Korean friend that got 110 wpm and I'm not quite sure how, but I watched him do it and daaayumm.

My typing speed is somewhere between 80 and 90wpm. It's kind of surprising, since just several months ago, I was able to type only 40 words per minute. :/

^ That's my fastest, though my tendency to make mistakes tend to be higher. My normal typing speed is usually around 75.

For me typing speed has more to do with the keyboard you use than anything else. My keyboard at home is much nicer than the ones at school, so I type much slower on the pooty dell keyboards with absolutely no room for my gigantic fingers. Although I hate them, I type a little faster on laptop keys unless I have to type numbers. They're really slow, but I do still love the old old keyboards, something about the way blue light reflected off the spacebar had me at startup. I like the clickie noise the keys make.

I just grabed my old favorite keyboard and I type at almost the same speed!

Right now, I'm around 35 - 45 wpm. Doing Essays on the computer helps.

The 'new' dell keyboards are pieces of shit, to the max.

I don't really mind them much for gaming though, since they have specialized edges/sides so you dont rest your wrist on the corner and they have big alt keys.

First time was 81, second time was 100, third time was 81. It's the errors that kill me; if I don't have to backspace (such as in the second attempt), I do really well.

Of course, I voted 70-80 in the poll before I saw that there was a link to a test. =P

I can get about 60 when I'm really trying, in the 40s or 50s when I'm not. Slower when I'm tired like I am right now.

Xurich brings up a good point. That calculator sucks, it's just counting how many letters seperated by spaces you can type rather than actually being able to follow what it says. Most of you are actually making up what you got and didn't actually do the test.

Those of you who did the test probably didn't bother to use punctuation and capital letters where appropriate. I did and I got 43wpm.

Also when did we decay this much to need to compete at who types fast enough?

Look for the printscreen button on your keyboard, it should be located near the Pause/Break, and the Scroll lock keys. Press it while your on the page that shows your statistics, then go to any image editing program and press "CTRL+V" at the same time, crop it to whatever you want, then save it as a png.

If we were lying than wouldn't we say some extremely high number? The thing with this calculator is when I got 60 something at school we couldn't have any mistakes, so that is why it is higher with some mistakes for me.

Last time I took a typing test was with a really old version of Ultrakey in 8th grade. I got around 110 WPM with 100% accuracy. Since then, I've gotten lazy and probably type at around 90WPM unless motivated to type faster.

I learned to type mostly from in-game Soldat convos. I think it's good cause its a fast game and leaves little time for typing. I don't use grammar in-game though for that reason

and I am proud of my 50-60wpm. higher than most of my friends

I only can type around 40- 50 wpm, as I type with 5 fingers on one side and 1 on the other. 5 left 1 right.

I find laptops MUCH easier to type with. I guess cause I been using one for pretty much the whole of this year
