Seriously?
« on: November 06, 2008, 02:42:04 pm »
Take note: this post does not apply to the majority of the Soldaters.

Alright, so I've been playing the game for about a week now. Great game, great variety, the community is generally awesome too. Just wondering though - why is it that people are getting vote kicked in public servers for "using the wrong weapon".

This has happened to me, and multiple other people in these servers when I've played.

If you want to "only saw" or "only knife", can't you just go to another server where only that is allowed? Some people play with other weapons because they want to play soldat.

Take note also - there are indeed servers for this specified purpose - (Elite Saw and Law), (Elite one shots) (Shoozza knife only), etc.

Please stop kicking people who don't follow your made up rules.

dumbasses. if there are any of them in a server, you can do 2 things:

first thing:
Press Shift+7, press F1, and before the name of any player, there is a number, so then write: /mute <playerid> and you won't hear this guy's comments about how gay the weapon you are using is. like this: /mute 6

second: kick this guy before he does so with you. Add F12!1!! on the poll so the people will be more likely to press F12 and kick it outta the server.

Takeovers  aren't allowed at my server at least. If they do it they get banned.

... Most 'proper' servers will have them, but it's still up to the server admin(s) to enforce said rules. So your statement is taking things a bit too far.

The same thing has happened in Toumaz's CS server a few times. People will randomly go in and say "Saw only omgzudnfyodbfsyufbsd!!!" and kick people who wont use it. (Though not much of a problem anymore)

Suggestion: start using the same server(s) at all times, but don't start out by trying to kick or argue with people. The more time you're in the server, the more people will recognize you and soon they wont want to kick.

Better solution: Don't get all pissy over what some people are doing in a pub. If people say "saw only!" or whatever, then switch to spec. If it looks like greater than half are actually doing it, then you can leave, call an admin, or switch back and use saw.

We dont have any control of our local server- we cant enable/disable weapons at will, so sometimes we decide to play soldat volleyball or tag, both being a lot of fun. We simply kick those who disregard the 'current' rules- usually some guy with 300 ping.
But, it is always the same players here so everyone knows how it works, noone has any problems.

In almost all servers, this is completely illegal. Called hijacking. If you know who runs the server you can probably get them to do something, but usually u can't.

Takeovers? Hijacking? That makes it sound so organised and malicious. Whether you agree or disagree with it, it's just playing a certain game mode that the majority of players have decided to partake in. I doubt people specificly try to 'raid' a server and kick anyone who doesn't follow some obscure rule of theirs.

Request an admin if the server is running some sort of admin call script.

I'm fine with knife only, but saw only is uninteresting and it bugs me when they vote kick me for not using saw because they said so.

What's worse are the 2 people who kick you the second you enter because they're having a 1 on 1. For God's sake, if it isn't your server, you don't make the rules.

Sometimes people do, especially in DM servers.

if they don't like you for whatever reason, and enough people agree, you can get kicked.  majority rules.  democracy ftw.

I've gotten kicked enough times too for much worse reasons... it's all part of the game :/
Can't think of anything original to put here...

You can't have "democracy" at game servers as the majority of players are immature kids. Dictatorship rules ;)
