Longer Name for Soldat?

Just wondering... Is there a way to make your soldat character name longer than like 20 characters long?

24 I believe is the maximum character limit, however some servers run scripts that limit it to 20.

Someone told me that it's because there's something wrong with font.ini. I never found out how to fix it though. Hopefully it will be fixed in the future because it's ruining my ober skills. Usually I just ask the person with a long nick to shorten it a bit, but most of the times the person will just ignore me and do nothing, it's sad.
