Weather Effects
« on: November 11, 2008, 03:53:23 pm »
Well I'm not sure if these can be done but this would be good. The weather could change ingame as your currently playing. Say the weather is cloudy, during the game it can turn to Heavy Raining, stormy weather.

Also, the soldat player will interact with the rainy weather, make it more slippery, harder to shoot because of the rain in the atmosphere. But the weather shouldn't change too constantly if you know what I mean (it will get very annoying to some people). I was just wondering if this could be done and implemented, post your ideas and if you agree.

I agree that weather could change ingame. This would be nice.
But for sure it shouldn't affect gameplay.
Also, take a look at these:

As far as I know, there is a magic barrier between ideas and the soldat script, making most if not all ideas nigh impossible. So I doubt this wil happen. It might... but I doubt it.

Well, let's hope that Soldat code will be rewritten some day, and let us give developers a good reason to do so, for example post excellent ideas which would convince them that it's worth their time.

If a map is desert themed i wouldn't like see snow there.
I agree, but rain instead of sand storm could do imo. Or it could simply start and stop sometimes.

Oi lads. Spoke to Bricks about this, and it will not be added to the game. It just isn't at all critical to the developement of the game. I won't lock this thread yet, just know why I don't add it to the sticky.

Also, I think we're all pretty well left off with the current weathersystem whichm in my eyes, are totally awesome!
I fucking miss all you cunts!
