Soldat Polyworks not running.
« on: December 13, 2008, 02:59:28 am »
I hope this is the correct place to put this post.

I have vista, but polyowrks won't run for me, instead it comes up with polyworks and then says:

"Direct3D Initialisation failed
Error creating Direct3D objects
ActiveX component can't create object"

It then says

Error Loading
Error Initialising DInput
Object Variable or with Bloack varianle not set

Any ideas?

14. (Windows Vista) I get an error that says one of the components is missing or invalid when I start PW.

Try registering it: Make sure you have administrative rights, go to C:\windows\system32, right click cmd.exe, and click "Run As Administrator." Type in regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx (or whatever the name of the files is).

15. (Windows Vista) I get an error that says "ActiveX component can't create object" when I start PW.

Follow the instructions in #14 with the dx8vb.dll file (search for and download it if it doesn't exist on your computer).
...and headbutt the sucker through your banana suit!
