Map layout - please check it out :)

CTF_PointFlag.  I named it this cause I thought it would kinda feel like two pirate ships engaging.  only, minus the ships, just the 'feel' of the combat would make you think this map would be pretty decent if there were pirate ships lol

It's kinda like air-based combat where you can utilize ice/bounce polys.  the top path is vertical, you can pull a massive backflip out of there and grab the enemy flag going down.  or if you spawn over the bounce poly you can boost your way right up to the top area and take out your opponents

the bottom route, both teams are kinda supposed to spray the feck outa eachother while fighting over the strategic bouncy poly in the middle, to help them gain access to the enemy base.  oh, and to keep you from falling down into the bottomless pit of the map.

^I thought this was really cool, thinking of what this gameplay would be like reminds me of the dark nature of WWII dogfights, you either win epicly or get blown to bits or left to suffer slowly* (*this being the fall into the bottomless pit, falling with nothing but the option to suicide.  or wait til you hit the bottom and respawn lol)

I want to ask if anyone here sees any flaws in my design, its sketchy but I will adjust poly positions etc if I make the map.  (polyworks screwed up again :( )

p.s, the 'P's are player spawns

for the ice poly spawn construct it a bit like bended slope so you can take speed and then fly I have used that to quite a success in my skijumping mod. the middle bounce polygon might be tricky but perhaps thats what you have in mind because you might just jump right up to the death polys an alternate idea is to exchange it for some ice polys looking like a U so you can take speed and fly up there instead.

The death polys are the spiky bits inside the tunnel, not the two large polygons holding the center together. but I will take your advice and see what I can do for the ice polys.  I did another sketch today and concluded that they should be longer than they are, at least enough to clear the gap between the ice and the bouncy thing, to make things easier.

I am hoping that it would encourage prone spray tactics, which are underused in most servers.  and it makes spraying look a lot more professional

deadly spear polys in tunnels are bad
I tryed once, from many many ways... what generally happens is that the flagger dies, and then everyone crazyly tries to take/return the flag inside the tunnel, witch is very chaotic and not fun
a good solution is to make the walls shootable

I see, good point there

I'll look into this, didnt think of the flagger dieing and dropping it in there.  the point was that no-one is stupid enough to go there, it's really just for show.  and to stop you thinking you're fighting over a concrete block. (I mean if it wasnt there the map would essentially be a big square with platforms on either side)
