the first public release was 1.0.5b.
I don't think anyone has it though.

[EDIT] It would be nice to get it though, so I'll keep my hopes up  [retard]

Yeah if anyone still has it please speak up. Some Soldat Classic would be a fun nostalgic romp

Check there. It's an archive of all the versions the community has managed to find. The earliest version there is the 0.94 beta.

Cool.

EDIT: No one-word posts...

I'll probably download it, it would be weird and good to see the start.

I have 0.94c, but the link whereby Spilt gave is better, which has 0.94 beta.

The classic Soldat is very different from the Soldat now in many areas.
1. You can't backflip
2. You won't bleed when injured
3. For some reason, you can't jump backwards without slowing down to almost a stop first, unlike now.
3. There were no secondary weapons - even if there were, it was a VERY weak pistol - Colt 1911 - similar to Socom but less damage and 7 ammo. In other words, there was no Boogie Man =(
4. You can't prone (x)
5. DEs used to be just 1 Desert Eagle
6. Steyr Aug used to be a M4 Carbine
7. There were some bots that don't exist in the current Soldat
8. Lots of game modes/options aren't there - Rambo Bow did not exist either.
9. There was no such thing as bink and movementacc - and there is no weapon.ini either.
10. Weapons selection menu is different - you just pick a Primary with a number before you can kill.
11. There were no bonuses, but when there were, bonuses lasted 5 seconds longer than now. Flamer expires immediately after use. (There was a bug whereby your original weapon expires if you switch weapon to the original weapon during Flame God)
12. You couldn't change skin colour, and you ALWAYS wear a helmet.
13. There was no such thing as Sniper Line.
14. There was no music, even if there were, it's very different from what you have now.
15. Barrett had no scope - and has 5 ammo.
16. Minigun had 150 ammo, high damage and you can really get boosted by it.
17. Spas-12 did not have a shell-by-shell reload.
18. You can't roll.
19. Fire from the Flamer does not stick onto you - getting killed does not show you being burnt to death. Flamed Arrows used to shoot projectiles that look like LAW missiles (because it has smoke rather than flames as it travels).
20. For some reason, the Rambo was able to have more HP than normal.

^ There are MANY other differences. As you can see, Soldat, from the very old version until now, has changed ALOT and has greatly improved and upgraded into the Soldat we see now.

Go try the old Soldat, you can really see the improvement. Who knows? Playing the old version could also give you fresh new ideas for mods =D

And barret bullets didn't go so straight than they goes now. My opinion is that it was great thing. Because you did need more skill to kill by it, or at least much different skill than nowdays.

Sheesh, some people just resort to mixing the i and the l up, but you've forgotten the l completely. :P

Crap! I think I must have pressed the 'L' to gently when I was typing "Spilt" or completely forgot to press it, fixed.

Really? It seemed equally straight to me though, but whatever. Of course, during the time when there was no scope, the Barrett was more like a 1-hit version of Ruger than a sniper.
