OK I just thought about something. I dont know if thats been suggested but anyways. my idea was that if you crouch then jump you'd go higher. BUT I'm not sure if that would be a good idea because of all the climbing maps. so I dont know what to think anymore. whats you opinion

It would be clunky and useless. And we already have back flip which is good enough.

Not needed, the backflip is easily the most versatile jump. Besides, in most maps in Soldat and in typical games, you'd have a reasonable amount of jet fuel to help you go higher than your normal jumps.

Usually we jump while running. Pressing crouch while running makes gostek roll already, so we'd either have to delete roll movement if this "super jump" was to be implemented or it wouldn't be possible to "super-jump" while running, what'd make "super-jump" redundant.

So, no. Along with other movement boosts like sprint.

not really, you would just have to press crouch on its own to poise, and in combination to roll.

Nevertheless F11. As much as Id like to play with this feature just out of perosnal interest, i feel it is kind of redundant.

Already exists. It's called a kick jump, pretty important to know how to do.

Also, then the keys to throw flag would be changed...

Yeah, but that would be really annoying, and half the time you would drop the flag just by accident. not too fond about this idea, I think it serves no purpose, besides in a game mode that's not even an official one.

You would have to press them simultaneously most of the time, since the moment you let go of "crouch", you'd be standing up quickly, and by the time you press jump, you'd just be doing a normal jump or end up throwing the flag. To do this without ending up jumping normally or throwing the flag, you'd probably need perfect timing, but who would use a move that is so hard to do yet so useless? It'd also need a different control, or the flag throwing needs a different control.

So no point wasting the time or the effort to implement this.



Kick Jump, I've heard of it but not sure of what it is.

As a game programmer, I know this isnt too much of a drama. Ive made such a maneouver before in a project that also had a lot of other similar commands/animations. 

After pressing and releasing crouch you create a brief but reasonable window that is overrided by any other input apart from Jump. Press Jump in that window and you do the super jump. You couldnt perform this move without releasing crouch first. Thats the point of the idea. It would not work if you were pressing any key other  than Jump alone, and within that window.

I dont mean to support this jump technique, but a false argument grinds my gears.

I know about bunnyhopping, backflip and nade/M79 jump, but I don't know what a kick jump is. Can you enlighten me?
(I've searched forum and Soldat wiki, with zero success...)

Not sure if this is it, but usually when I'm jetting over some cliff I'll bunny jump towards it, and on the last jump before takeoff I'll let go of my running button (A or D) and only focus on jumping up, with emmediately htrusting my jets. Seems to give me a little boost.

Not necessary. Maybe would consider it if it wasn't for the fact soldat isn't exactly "stable'
