Soldat uses unreliable UDP whereas Michal seems to want to use reliable UDP, which has a system to detect missing packets.More information that preceded that answer:"...[There is] a system to detect missing packets. It's called reliable UDP messages. Soldat did have something like that in the very first versions, but it caused a lot of problems like packet multiplication and bandwidth problems. I didn't realyl have time to fix it so I dropped the idea and made the code based on unreliable packets. I don't know if it would be better to make Soldat with reliable packets. It might be more precise when it comes to hits but maybe it wouldn't be playable for large amounts of people playing on one server. I'm going to try reliable UDP completely in this new project, we'll se how it works."And the reason he isn't using TCP is apparently because it isn't useful for games with more than two players.
he has eyebrows of authority + 5. Are you kidding?
