My new project
« on: June 10, 2006, 04:50:20 am »
I have started a new game project some time ago. I would like to announce it here because I'm seeking people to help me out with it. I've set a temporary website (http://www.crimsonengine.com) where all the info is.
This does not mean I'm quitting Soldat or anything like that. I've always been doing other stuff and it didn't stop me from releasing new versions from time to time. More info on this project and Soldat later.

Can't wait for the new game, as I said in the last forums, you have a willing mapper here.

It's good to hear that you will still be supporting Soldat.

edit: I've just downloaded DeleD, I'll start learning now.  ;)

depends on what he wants in the game just look half life it's almost everything you can do so many things and that title took 2 years to develop with a whole team and half life 2 6 years with a whol develop team so just give him the time :)

Yes MM we all fully suport you on this new game and im sure you can expect the same community to play it. Maybe not as much as Soldat for the hardcore Soldat players but yes we will play it. Now if we could get our long overdue new version release.

BTW, I emailed you about being able to do some pixel art stuff but never got a reply I take it your all set on that end.

There is a lot of overhead for corporate games. Thay need to submit plans and proposals all the time. They need to spend days just to make sure all the developers are working together. They need to hire people to provide character voices. They need story line, plot, politically correct humor and what ever else strikes them as necessary.  Also, more gaming companies are developing a framework to allow people to write mods.

It think it will take MM and team about 8 months to a year.

Yes, I hope the project is still going well and as i said before, I am willing to do whatever needs done.
As much as I would like to be a part of this project, theres probably not much I could do anyhow except mapping, which I don't have much experience at with 3d games anyway.
Also I noticed that your title is no longer "Soldat Creator"...
Everyone MM is now officially an admin! ^_^

I plan to have a playable version until summer ends, so 2-3 months I guess. I'll try to make screenshots in the mean time.

Wow MM you made some real progress, way sooner than I though.
Screenshots will be nice but don't rush anything, make some good screenies for us to drool over. :P
But no matter how fun the new game is, I won't leave Soldat.

:D Crimson Glory, air dogfighting multiplayer game!
That's really nice, I love air combat games.

Good luck man, I can imagine the fun of this game already.
