Looks great but uh...can it be run by the same computers as Soldat? I don't have a very good processor and I only have 256 mb of ram. I want to play it when it comes out (if it does) but if it requires a half life 2 compatible computer I doubt many people will be able to play it...
Like I said though, Looks great MM and good luck!

EDIT:
I have a copy of sketchup, 3D modeling Software. However You'll likely need to find some way to convert it to some other file format as I doubt it would work in a game...

Sketchup really isn't all that good for modeling, and you can only export to useful formats if you buy it. And I seriously doubt that it will require a HL2 compatible computer.

I wonder if MM is gonna use the same animation system that he used in soldat on the soldiers in CG

I hope not. I hope movement is coded so you only have to set key positions and have the body parts literally rotate through programming to them (and set the speed for each movement shift) instead of drawing every single frame.

Eh, sorry. I should've clarified more; not many have toyed around with the .POA Editor :P

Basically, if you download .POA Editor (in a stickied thread at the top of one of the mod sections) and view an animation, you see that all the movement is animated like an animated .GIF, in that it's just a bunch of completely independent frames running in a cycle quickly.

But go and download a game like Stick Soldiers 2. There are no individual frames for every tiny bit of movement; instead, it deals with the body parts (in a familiar Soldat term, gosteks) but here they are coded to smoothly, literally move to specific places on a plane. Those are "frames," but these such frames also have a specified time between each movement.

(If you still don't understand, go play a match in SS2, hit ~, type and hit Enter afterwards animator, select an easy-to-see animation—I suggest the running one—press V, and toy around with the up/down arrow keys, if I remember correctly)

I realize that the soldaten in CG are most likely going to be more complex than just a bunch of graphite-drawn lines (heh :P), but in this kind of coding, animation-modding could also allow rotation of various graphics to twist in whatever part of a cycle as needed. Or they could be even more extensively programmed to automatically change position depending on the position of the other body parts its connected to; such as a foot changing position in accordance to how far back the knee is bent, etc.)

You think he's really gonna give a damn about how their feet change position to the knee being bent? Better yet, would you really be THAT disappointed if the animation style were the same as soldat?

Geez, that was just an example. No need to take it so literally, and it's all a suggestion anyways; I'm just saying that this way would make animation-modding infinitely easier to do than Soldat's current. But no, I won't die if he has already programmed it the same way Soldat's animations are structured (and chances are he has, since a demo's supposedly going to be out relatively soon)...

I doubt he'll make that much of a fuss over something so small, literally, the smoothness wouldnt make much difference over the size soldats are right now, remember, these little men arent going to be massive things so massive that you can see every hair he has, besides, i'd rather him focus on the more core aspects of the game that frustrated people in soldat than animations.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but are the WWI planes going to be real-world planes or made up?

teamspeak, sucka. no need to code team chat into a game when you can just use teamspeak.
