People still ask for the damn flag back? Pitiful.

Another topic brough this point up for me again. I can't believe that people still lose the flag, watch another teammate get it, and then whine to them to get it back.

Here's the scenario. You have the enemy team's flag, but then one of them shoots you, which leaves you dead. Now another teammate of yours spawns and gets the flag you just had. The person who had shot you earlier is dead one way or another. So now you go over to your new FFC and start complaining, "IT'S MINE, CAN I HAVE IT BACK PLEASE?" Not to mention how embarassed you should feel.

First of all, you lost the fecking flag, so you've shown yourself as incompetent and unable to cap without dying, so why not let the other teammate who ended up having it get a chance? How trustworthy are you, really? When you die with the flag, people can say, "Oh, maybe he doesn't feel like putting forth the effort of KEEPING THE FLAG."

Second of all, there was a chance of it being returned while you were dead, so your teammate actually saved the flag, though he didn't capture it from the enemy base. Think of all the things that could've happened while you were taking your good ol' time to respawn.

Third of all, there is no such thing as the flag being a single person's if they don't have it. You can only even remotely call it your flag while you have it. After that you can simply shut the feck up and focus on returning your team's flag. Kthx.

Fourth of all, you know how everyone hates beggars on the streets, so they want them to get a job instead of begging for money? Same damn principal applies here. Go earn the fecking flag again. When you lost it, you pretty much got fired from your job.

^ I strongly agree with you. I do myself get annoyed at people who keep arguing that "It's their flag" when its the team's flag and the team's score at stake. And they'd given go as far as to get you killed to get their flag back - which is killing the team - or kicking you out.

But meh, this is the internet (mainly in the publics), we'll get crap like these - it's all about ego. Have to put up with it.

• If only one flag is captured and you hold it, cap it! Waiting for your teammate to spawn and then giving him the flag is a waste of time.
• If both flags are captured and you hold it, give it up. Who actually likes being the sap in the base with the flag anyways?

Sitting around and asking for the flag is stupid and you have the right to ignore anyone that does. Giving the flag to someone else however can be a good idea.

Great point. I'm glad I see a lot of people doing that. Most give the flag to another teammate almost the same millisecond they end up getting it.

It's a team effort on CTF. I'm not disappointed that the flag I stole hasn't fallen into enemy hands, even if a teammate grabbed it when I died.

Still, I am a bit angry if one of my teammates had the flag and won't give it to me, when I've obtained it with great difficulty.

But for the second point, it depends on the situation. You need a good player to guard the flag so that it is not returned to the enemy, but on the other hand you'll also need good players to grab your flag back. So it can be quite a pain sometimes to look for a player to pass the flag to.

Sitting in the base is not very safe since everyone expects you there - but you can cap quickly the moment the flag is returned. Following your teammates is risky, but fortunately you have you teammates to back you up - and you are also helping your teammates by giving them an extra push.

Another reason to pass the flag is if you are wounded and there are no health packs hanging around. If you are and it is convenient to pass the flag then do so. If not, I sometimes /kill around the spawn point and pick it up upon rebirth.

This is one of my peeves, I'm in the party that if you lose it, it's lost and whoever on the team is nearest should cap it. After all, it's a team effort, and who cares about personal points in ctf anyway?

I have won couple gathers in my life. Played over 600 but I won once. So, now you know it is possible. And many players in Soldat are not so nice, so there is nothing what you can do about it. If you play in public servers, there is those too. You can't run out of them.

When this happens, you either A) Don't give a shit and move on B) Whine like a little bitch or C) Get the other guy who took your flag killed and take it back. Just hang around him for a bit, let someone go straight past you, and then kill him when he kills the flag carrier. Win win situation.
