RS isn't filled with n00bs cos they hate the fact that they can't spray and pray. I love RS, but still, it starts to hurt when I see n00by players run into my fire and accuse me of hacking because it took two shots to kill them.

Some people don't come back. They just play once in a while, for kicks or because they're bored. But other than that, I rarely see old players come back.

UOW is a clan, i suppose they are good. But it's just me, maybe i think clans are a waste of time seeing as how all the clan leaders I meet in game are desperate enough to enlist teh n00bies into their clan.

I'm not japanese, I used to be 117, but changed my name. Check the old forums if ya want to know.

Legendary players? Hmm, okay, wrong term, more like helpful/reasonable players. Anyone heard of Shivorken? Yeah, that modder guy who made halo mods in the old forums. Yes, I used to meet him on soldat, and he was probably more skilled than your average player.

Reasonable. Mature. A person who will probably say NS to you if you hit them with a barret instead of "OMg j00 f4ck1ng h4xX0r, ban n00b j00" and won't say 'h4h4 1 pWn3z0r3d j00, y0u r t3h suXx0rs' everytime they kill you.

No one knows him anymore.

I used to be a newbie, used to insult players, trash talk, accuse. But now I look at these players and wonder if I was ever that bad.

The only ONE advantage I have is that I play on japanese servers since i'm malaysia based. And the japanese rarely talk trash, and if they do it's filled with grammar that will make you laugh.

I don't have IRC. I don't think anyone in my region does.

EDIT (for cleric achilles) : Now if only we could do that across the web... :)

Actually i took a huge break. Like almost a year of not playing. When i came back i get called all sorts of names and no one has any respect for the other. Its just a bunch of kids that only know the controls. Its just plain annoying really.

I was playing at school one day and this kid next to me somehow figured out what i was playing and DLed it. He got in the same game i was in and all he did was get the minigun and start spraying the shit out of everything. I actually got sooooo pissed off that i turned around, walked over to him, and smacked him in the back of the head and stated "IF ALL YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IS POINT AND HOLD DOWN THE MOUSE GTFO OF MY SERVER!" All in all...he left.

People all over the world use IRC. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people in your region use it. The unfortunate part is that I don't think many people in your region use it for Soldat-related purposes, as I've never encountered any Malaysian based Soldat channels. But I could be completely wrong. There could be an entire Malaysian Soldat community that I'm not aware of.

Even if there's not, you can still hang out with a lot of cool Soldat players from other parts of the world on IRC, and being from Malaysia won't disallow you from trying out Soldat Gather, although I'm not sure how good your ping will be. It might be near the same as North Americans get, which won't be too bad.

If you're at all interested, visit the link I posted earlier. If not, disregard this message. :P

well..
Yesterday I re-installed soldat and had the name Major, anyway I go in a server (R/S). Iremember that my name was still Major but since the server was nearly full I decided not to leave then one guy comes and tks me and i decided to act noobish about it and said something like "arent we meant to kill the other team" and he was like "stfu noob" blablabla then the other round i started well because I went another route but he follow me and tk me, anyways my point is noobs are in every server, no matter what type of game. But ye, usually R/S isn't very noobish

You can find noobs anywhere, anytime and anygame. It's treu that realistic attracts less noobs, and r/s even less, but you need to find the servers that are cleaned out of these players. My clan gots his own server and we try to keep it clean, though its a realistic server. I play the game since beginning 1.2.1 , had a pauze of 6 Months or so.... But a clanserver and being in  a clan is one of the best ways to get rid of stupid gamers...

Define legendary.. because I know a hell of a lot of really good players right now. Do you have to go and win every tournament single-handedly to become 'legendary' or something?

A little list of some great people, whether they are good at soldat or if they are well-liked or not is entirely up to you:

GAMEOVER
S4R
Transit
Spectral
Invisibleguy
Suomip
Elemental
Yozzizo
Text Killer
Why
Blood Shaman
Phaylanx
Crazymonkey
Morik
Messiah
A Girl
Popps
lordrohith
lov3
seancapsyourass
Keiran
Xero
X-Master

Lots more..

I dunno, these people are still active and have what it takes to be qualified as people who arent 'n00bs'

Quote
Yes. I don't know what happened in the time I was gone, but it seems like there has been an exponential increase in n00bs.

This is a given, of course more people are going to come. Soldat would die if it wasnt constantly refueled by new people.

I've played with almost all the NA players on that list, they all rock.

Never gone to anyt Euro servers though.
I change my ingame name constantly. Look out for my colour scheme, it's the only way you'll recognize me.

Or I could just keep a list...

Current ingame name: Proxy/Running Man

Thats about what happened to me last year, when I downloaded the version of this game after i got cable internet. All the pros were gone and the only people there were all like "OMG, AIMBOTS". or something else like that. It's not as bad in realistic servers, but there you have people who say "WTF, Y RU INVISIBLE!??"
I will master every weapon at my disposal,
only then can I be truly strong...

Hey yeh, I'm still around too :)

And I am so totally legendary.

Yeh, I could add to that list with some other people like

Outcast
NightCabbage
M! (ahaha)
MrKhan
n2j3
Fabmanx
Camping Carl
Meandor
FliesLikeABrick
Flanagan

Yeh I know, some of them weren't great players, but made contributions to the community.

Plus it makes me feel special when I know people that newer players don't know :)

"How did you get so good?"

sounded like a compliment to me don't you think? i donno is it just me or did that sentence sounded like "wow, you're pretty good, was it hard? did it take long to practice like that?" and i even felt adoration in there, which is like "wish i can be like him"

what is this talking about being "lengends"...it's just a game, and a free miniture 2d game too lol.

hey guys, four words

it's summer, go outside

there's a comma in there too.

I came back from not playing for a long time and I owned CTF servers for games at a time.. I was like hey Im still amazing.. but then I realized the others were all noobs :P
But seriously, Im still pretty good. I consider myself a veteran. Someone talked to me in a game the other day from a long time ago, and I was like hey man, sup. He remembered me. It made me feel special. And no one can take away my special feeling.

I have only been playing Soldat for 2 months, and I consider myself not a noob. Although I do complain about spawners, m79 users, etc, I consider myself to be a decent Soldat player. I remember in a Teammatch I was playing, there was a guy called Ramy. He was on bravo, I ws on Alpha. He was using the minimi and he was amazing... I went at him with my MP5 and I was second to him every game... I consider him a great player. The only people I've played on that list are Spectral, Xero, and Crazymonkey, I believe. They are all good. ^_^

^^ was that in u13 TM? i remember we were in there tearing up when it was me an you TEAM MP5! lol
Your acting like your having a duel and your opponent gets a pistol and you get a spork.
Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

Still playing, I have had that same problem. I want to open a passworded server for the veteran members of this forum sometime...and also hoping for a small rank system.

Soldat has incredible potential...some of which will hopefully be revealed in the next update.

I know exacly how you feel bub!

Roughly 2 years ago during summer i began to play soldat. eventually i got into the realistic/survival servers i then became prettty good with a barret*. Especally Evos old servers. Then once school began, i hardly ever played.

(*Note this was all before the barret delay hense my name!)

Now its summer again i have started to play more and i have realised that Evos server is practically non-existant and replaced by Leos servers! I like leos servers because they removed that flippn delay. However none of my old comrades used to play anymore. and every time i reach the top of the score with a barret you get mouthy nooby people who accuse you of aimbotting!

WHAT THE HELL IS AIMBOTTING! IT DOES NOT EXIST! So as usual some 'wet sap' whos 'just doing the right thing' tries to kick you out! How insulting is that! getting kicked out because you have common sense not to run into enemy fire!

It's just one point of view and not the truth. What is this idea to say" he is that because i think so"?
You can add all the players you want you can't impose it to our eyes.

i consider myself, maybe not a veteran because im not the best, but maybe semi-famous since i tend to play quite a lot since 2002(maybe, right around hat year, i cant remember these kinds of things  :) ). but how long you play or what weapons or your playing style doesnt really bother me, as long as people are respectable to some degree the servers will be good, but since 121 on tech tv and 131 in insidegamer magazine or something like that, there is a massive amount of non respectable people..usually in a couple months it dies down though. but it is good soldat gets some news coverage otherwise the community would shrink instead of grow. oh and btw, i used to be |KA| Mr. T.tk |KA| now i am {wa[Mr. T]ng}. all the best
