Finally, I have acquired my own internet connection, after almost two years... I get to play Soldat again!

This seems like a good time to talk about internet connections, and your speeds and such.

Hopefully this isn't the wrong forum to put something like this in, if so, sorry.

I've got one of my ISP's cable business plans which gives me ~8MB/s down and ~1.5MB/s up.

I think this belongs in the Lounge, but I'll let the mods of this board decide that.

I started off 8 years ago with a 1MB connection, then a couple of years later it got upgraded to 1.5MB, then a few more years later to 4MB and I think last year it went up to 10MB.

dunno about you guys, but it seems anything higher than 1.5MB/s (or standard broardband here) cost hundreds of dollars.

I assume you all mean megabits (Mb/s), not megabytes (MB/s).  Huge difference.

But then at our other house, there is some random guys internet that i use (9MB/s)
