Won't happen, Soldat will never be ported to any gaming console. The only way this would work is if you installed Ubuntu on the ps3 (which you can easily do since Sony lets you) and try playing it with Wine, and even then it'd be funky as hell as you'd have fiddle with controllers and related input devices.
There are other worlds than these

He wasn't asking if Soldat was able to be played on a gaming console. Seems to me he found a game for PS3 that looked similar to Soldat.

I can't even imagine how would Soldat be on any console, it would be just too crappy. It won't happen. MM haven't got the money or either want to do this, so there's no chance

He wasn't asking for it to be ported. He was simply stating that this game, Crash Commandos, is extremely similar to soldat and is available for PS3.

The Official Suggestions Sticky

The Don't-Suggest List

Soldat will never be programmed for portable consoles/machines, or probably even regular gaming consoles (Michal doesn't have the money nor the time to do so, and even then gameplay probably would flop on such systems. Although if you want to use Soldat on Linux, feel free to help with the Soldat Wine project.)

This speaks for itself.

And suggested MANY times.

How many of the people who posted in this thread actually looked at the link he posted? How many people who posted in this thread actually looked at anything besides the thread title to come up with their obviously well thought out arguements?

How many more people are gonna come in here and make a post without reading a single thing? Can anyone of you honestly say you looked at the link he posted AND watched the video in that link besides mxyzptlk? Im guessing from the way things have been going the next person who posts is gonna say something like "Yeah sorry man, but it has been talked about before and its not gonna happen. You really should learn to look through every single thread that this forum has to offer before you make a post about something that has already been talked about before. Even though i know im about the 50th person in this thread to tell you that without actually knowing what im talking about im just gonna continue on with my point, wait, what was my point again? Im really beginning to see what Demonic was talking about.

You said "it's" been talked about before. There are two different things going on in the thread due to the people who chose only to look at the topic title, so "it's" can be taken in both ways.

Christ people click the fucking link.

So far it looks stupid, its not like anyone is going to play it though, ps3 is even less popular than Lenin at a KKK gathering

Does MM have a patent on Soldat?

That would be incredibly amazing if he won in a lawsuit against Sony for taking this idea.

Then maybe he'd get to working on link-dead.

I believe that Soldat is not open-source (yet) and yes, Soldat is probably copyrighted by Michal. That information screen that pops up when you start the game? Yeah, read that. Regardless...

There's going to be overlap in the gaming industry eventually, even if it seems as if ideas are being copied. Original ideas are becoming harder to find these days. Lighten up guys, seriously.

Why don't the creators of Doom sue Bungie for making Halo because Doom was created first? Hey, you know what? The creators of Final Fantasy should also sue WoW for expanding their RPG concept that started on the NES into an MMORPG and being more successful. And let's not forget all those World War 2 veterans! They should sue because the war they fought was copied by Call of Duty and Medal of Honor multiple times. Jeez, they have no respect.
