WINE problem
« on: July 30, 2006, 10:11:47 pm »
Technically this is a WINE problem, not Soldat. If you have to use Linux (damn laptop's memory failed and I don't have another license) then you have to play Soldat in WINE.

There are just two problems with Soldat under WINE:
- The map polygons don't render. Bots, trees, shrubs, rocks, bullets, explosions, etc, etc, all render. Just not the map polygons. You have to shoot at empty space to tell if it's there or not.
- The text is flipped over, and is one to the right. So a 'Y' will look like a backwards 'Z'.

Other than that it runs flawlessly, no noticeable speed loss, etc. Soldat is one of the main things keeping me on Windows so it'd be great if ways could be found around these two problems.

I'll keep looking into it myself. Regards,

aye, look there.  We're hoping to find someone to step up as an active maintainer for Soldat in the WINE AppDB, if you feel interested in being a maintainer, please feel free ;)
