I read today that the 7 pounds movie was actually pretty bad, but I still want to see it, as long as it isn't full of stupid flashbacks. :/

Forgot my vote, I might change my vote after rechecking the list of movies released in 08 but right now my vote goes to 7 pounds. That was an incredible movie.

that the one with will smith in right?

can you tell me, does the hook of the movie rely on a kind of purposely sorrowful plot finishing with a supposedly tear jerking ending like pursuit of happyness

or is it actually good
It tugs your heart strings but its not really that depressing until the end really.

I thought Iron Man was good, but at some parts of the movie, it felt like a average superhero movie that didn't fare well at the box office, like the Fantastic 4. :/

Wall-E was a very good movie. I just got it today as a late christmas present, but haven't got the money (in cash) to buy myself the Dark Knight outright. That. Was a good movie as well.

Okay, I just saw Iron Man a few minutes ago and thought it was amazing, but not as good as The Dark Knight.  :-\

The Dark Knight is just a given. Heath Ledger's acting was just incomparable to anything else in 2008. But since a bunch have already said that I'd like to say that the Hulk and Iron Man were also amazing.
Yeah.

then they probably didn't understand the movie
it is a black comedy after all. though it's pretty slow at the start it only gets really funny at the end when the fruits of their paranoia comes into light

Slumdog Millionaire.

I didn't like Seven Pounds that much and its not really that sad.  You spend the entire movie waiting for Will Smith to off himself, and the film doesn't deviate much from that plot line.

I liked the Dark Knight, but like was mentioned, there wasn't anything wrong with the movie, but there wasn't a whole lot right. Of course the Rebel Without a Cause factor came into play for its success. Also, Role Models was pretty funny, and was one of the only other movies I watched. Iron Man was ok, but I expected something less boring, so I say Dark Knight and Role Models.

That movie sucked ass. The movie went too slow, the ending wasn't even that good, and the plot just sucked.

I loved this movie, but wouldn't say it was the best of 08.

I can't decide on between Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino or The Wrestler. Both were really really good movies.
