Can you edit the player and a question on mods

Is it possible to edit the main player sprite? I don't mean his clothes, oh that brings up another question actually, to add new clothes do I just have to add the graphic in the appropiete folder or is there something else to it? Yeah so the guy you will play as, is there a way to edit him because I couldn't find a graphics for him in any folder.
I also read another topic here where Hair|Trigger said to make a mod;

Go into your soldat directory (C:/soldat) and copy the contents (it will have folders with different graphics as they appear in-game)

put them into your C:/soldat/mods folder, and make another folder there (in c:/soldat/mods) titled the mod you want it to be called.  then put the copied folders into that new folder, and edit the contents of the folder as you wish.  (you could start by making guns in paint, then putting them into the interface gfx/guns folder and make them replace certain images there)

All the contents or just the ones you're editing?

The player sprites are in the gostek's folder, there's a .txt readme there which explains what filename corresponds to which body part; and no, you don't need all the files in a mods/ folder, just the ones you want to load instead of the default ones.

thanks for the reply. I thought there was like a full 'body' for the player and then the clothes etc,. were put on over him as they were selected.

And anyone care to answer this part please?

just edit the bmp's in paint and that's all.

Alright thanks for the help, I have a mod started now Just one thing, I'm using the POA Editor for animations, can anyone tell me what the animation for the knife is?

That one shows as 'Punches' in the editor, is it the same animation?

Yes, it's the same animation. Knife slashing and punching shares the same animation.
