Soldat First Round, Freeze Time

Well soldat should have a first round freeze time of about 3 seconds. The freeze time should only be for the first round of a new map which will allow players time to view their team and opposition players, pick their gun(s) and communicate, prepare and strategise plans and tactics with their team so they all know what to do. The freeze time wont allow any player to move at all, only for the specific amount of time required (3 sec normally or default). The freeze time should be located on top of the reload bar and flashing so it’s clearly visible and easily noticeable. The first round freeze time should be able to be switched on and off by an admin or (user request). Also when the players start off the commanding soldier should say (Voice Recognition, Radio-Command): “Alright let’s move out”, “Victory is ours” or “Prepare to Fight”, “Capture the Flag!” etc. If you can think of any more just post some. Please post your thoughts and ideas for this topic. A discussion of this idea would be helpful too.

What's the point of having 3 seconds to 'strategise', 'Hey, I'll go top while xXxN4d0rxXx goes mid and then halfway we'll swap over right through the enemy, xXxN4d0rxXx nades the enemies and i'll shoot them with my ruger, meanwhile, xXxSn1p0rxXx can go down low, and rape the enemy with his l33t barrett skillz. In the second wave...' 3 seconds would be useless

Anyway soldat tactics lie in the taunts, shit like 'efc top' and 'inc mid' is all you need

Basically re-iterating what has been said by chutem:

1. This is not counter-strike. This is a 2D run and gun called Soldat.
2. A freeze time is useless in Soldat. Barely enough time to discuss tactics anyway.
3. If you have a mic, X-Fire etc, that would be more useful.
4. The most simple Soldat tactics - "EFC HIGH!" "FFC LOW!" "INC MID!" "BASE HOT!" "LOOSE LOW!" - yet amazingly effective. They are usually set as taunts.
5. We're going to have a radio feature in 1.5 to further aid the above point.

I'd like a freeze time for every map, then I wouldn't need to restart all the time because I lag behind.
but it would probably be better with 5 seconds or something, as that is about the longest lag one has.

Imo it's not bad idea. I agree that it wouldn't be useful for discussing tactics (taunts are better for that), but it would be useful for looking at the map, seeing if its small or big, and choosing appropriate weapon type and style of play.
After all, its only 3 seconds, and only at the beginning of round, not after every respawn! After that you get your run 'n' gun :)

The freeze time is only helpful if you have the minimap in this case, since you can see the map's design roughly. But on the other hand, if you're playing default maps on a game mode pretty often, you should be able to know the map very well and pick your weapon accordingly.

*i know that the loading is fast, but a second in soldat would be like 15 seconds for cs (first game i could remember) and you would be a lot behind the others

I *think* it was discussed somewhere before.
It's not a good idea because people with slow connection can download a map for a minute or longer. Other players would become totally bored in this time and would probably quit.

That's in Survival mode.
Without survival there are no numbers above head and "invincibility" time is much shorter.

There's no point to this idea. Soldat is supposed to be fast paced, this would just slow it down. F11.

If you wanna talk tactics in a clan war, do it and then play, I'm sure the other team will wait a few seconds while you discuss what to do or where to go.

And in a public server, pfft, please, there's no tactics there. It's just run, gun, get the flag and score (if it's CTF/INF/HTF). :P
