Possible solution to runtime error -1

Edit2: The link below is version 1.4.1 and won't work for 1.5.

Edit: Shoozza has supplied us with a soldat version that possibly won't give us the runtime error

I had to reformat my computer and when I'm trying to reinstall soldat I get a
"Runtime error (at -1:0):

Cannot import dll:C:\Windows\Temp\is-LH840.tmp\OCsetupHlp.dll"

I tried searching the forums but I can't find anything

It appears right after I choose english as the language for setup.

This is a brand new problem, by the looks of things. Might be something wrong with your OS?

Are you able to install anything else?

:\ I was hoping it wouldn't be an OS problem. I use a Win98 SE, but I'm able to install anything else and I've been able to play before I had to reinstall Windows.

K, I've found that every time I reinstall, the is-LH840.tmp part changes if it helps anyone diagnose the problem...

Try downloading the installer from a different site.

I'm using 2000 and same problem

I've went to Nvidias driver archive and downloaded around 5 different drivers from way back to around 2001 all the way to the most recent, I completely uninstalled each driver and rebooted everytime, same error.

If redownloading Soldat doesn't help I would try to install
Windows Installer 3.1
or download the OCsetupHlp.dll itself and put it into the folder/ or system32 folder.

The only way would be to use a zipped version of soldat so that you don't need to install it.
But I would like to know why the bug happens.

Maybe you want me to take a look?
You could join the #soldat.devs IRC channel and highlight me.

Shoozza directed me to the German mirror. That fixed the problem.

edit/add: I realized later that having gotten unzipped versions from Shoozza could have effected the results of the german mirror exe install since it could have "helped" by putting on my system any of the required missing files (I dont know enough about soldat install, it's just a theory). So theres a chance it might not work after all. If that turns out to be the case anyone can feel free to PM me and I can upload an extracted version to you.

Hmm, this was an old problem for 1.4.2 (check the dates) but seemed to reappear today. Thanks to Grey and Shoozza for solving it before I could ask the question :D. (trying the extracted version now)
