Bad idea imo. What's the purpose of this?
Personally I like when both flags are taken and both teams struggle to return their flags.

Obviously to make mods more fun, different game-modes, or play testing different stuff etc.

The Soldat scriptcore is powerful in the right hands, and this kind of gameplay element can be easily added in a script. Due to that fact, I say F11 to the idea becoming an actual feature of the game (as in, no need for scripts to do it), as I don't see it being used for comp. servers, or even public servers. Heck, even if the server was a scripted mode, you could just add this as part of your code instead of getting it as an actual feature.

Another rebuttal just came to mind. If you're playing CTF, and you get into a flag standoff, this kind of thing would make the game turn into bullshit and chips, since while you wait for your flag to be returned, you could just suddenly explode for no good reason.

I think this idea is made because some people like to do this:

A player gets the flag, and then runs over to some random, unreachable place in the map, then hide with the flag.

I don't support this idea at all for scripting, let alone supporting it as an actual feature. Bad way to solve such a problem.

Well, that's the fault of the mapper for letting it happen, I say. Put some large death polygons a few pixels within the inside of other polygons, and then if someone tries to get somewhere they shouldn't, they die.

Well just to clarify, I thought this could be put into fast paced games to encourage teamwork (flag throwing) and putting pressure on the FFC maybe..

I guess it can be scripted but it would be cooler in competitive games

What is the CTF gonna be, a hot potato game!? It will just frustrate players more.
