Every soldat-goer's wish!
« on: January 12, 2009, 08:50:16 am »
I've played soldat for many years, increasingly, soldat became mono-tone playing for me.

May be soldat is now the time to modify?

I have some ideas here,I think should add more weapon.

1.Helicopters!Tanks!
-Beside turrets, other war machines should be added to increase fun of the game, also raise the 'War feeling'of the game. For example, tanks is added, each team will have one at the begining, respawn a new one every 5 minutes......

2.Add more 'function' to the game,so that the people can design a better server. For example, people can script a server, such as hostage rescueing,campaign......

just two ideas...but they will make this game more funny:)I wish Mr.Michal Marcinkowski will consider my ideas...

The Official Suggestions Sticky

The Don't-Suggest List
Destructible terrain, liquids, VEHICLES, mobile polygons (these would require a gigantic map format change as already covered above, they would be huge changes to gameplay which would disgust many players, even more glitches would result from them, etc.)

NO vehicles. Not for Soldat. If vehicles are ever to be considered, they'll go into the Link Dead project that MM is working on.

And what do you mean by "more function"?

EDIT:
I see, you mean scripting a server. That's already done.

I'm very sad when people post
a) ideas that are put in bold in the don't-suggest list (vehicles, new weapons)
b) huge ideas requiring huge amount of work just because "they want to play it"
 :'(

Can't have been playing for more than a week

he may have been playing offline with bots (I played offline for about 3 years - before joining the forums and starting to play online) or he plays on limited number of severs which are not very "scriptfull".

Tanks would be stupid, if they moved slower than the player, it would look ridiculous, if they moved faster, they would be an über pwntage machine.

Anyway, the tanks would have trouble moving around the map, think of ctf_Equinox, inf_Outpost, inf_Messener, inf_Mooshine, basically pretty much every map has 'levels' to it, and a tank just couldn't get on any of them.
