WIP - ctf_Piratex

Hi there, am working on a pirate-styled map which is multitextured and wanted to hear before I
release it what you would suggest for the map :) All I have to do now is to do the scenery for the 2
ships, but well ... lets see what you see what I dont see ;D

EDIT: I uploaded the newest version, with grass, a little resizing and filling in the empty space of the 2 ships

Well first of all, it seems very small as a ctf map for even 3 v 3. The top route can easily spray and pray, m79 boost from base to base, and its not creative which makes it simple and easy to get to the base. The middle route allows barret campers at each base and makes it hard to manouver through the rocks. But the rocks seem to be a good idea. There is no low route, which means only to pathways can be used to the enemy's base. Make a low route, and have the water around the map, it would make it look cooler.

The scenery looks very nice, and the mist helps make it look more like a deserted island/pirate theme. Just a few tips, make the map bigger, add some more stuff up the top, create a low route, the middle needs some fixing and it will look a lot better. Have any problems, just contact me and il give ya some help.

What would you suggest as a lower route, something underwater maybe? (then it should hurt players)

I will put in some colliding cols on the middle route and in addition make it uneasy to camp at the ships :)

No, what im saying is, have the water sorrounding the lower route instead of underneath like have it around the route and it would better. Or, you could have the water underneat the lower route if you'd think that would look better.

I could stretch it a bit upside, then it would fill a bit the routes

Yea, lame comment but..

The multitexture looks nice. And so do the ships. Well, so far at least.

I like it...water a cool idea...a cool underused idea...I'm also a fan of central 'death pits'

Unfortunately though, my opinion is that maps are better when a player can make a smooth transition between routes and in this case it would be kinda awkward, I guess that only a "sometimes rule" though and you have implemented it a bit.

I'm guessing players will take damage while standing underwater...so  maybe two platforms, one over the other, with an air bubble in the middle could be an interesting idea.

Sorry I'm kinda random at the moment
