it is an instant kill- maybe you're not hold f for long enough
I dont get whats the problem, range of the knife is comparable to that of the m79. You throw a knife farther than a grenade launcher launces a grenade? How many metres is half the screen in soldat?
No, the speed of the knife at a full throw is 60 and the speed of an M79 grenade is 107, which is almost double.

Not only that, but if you are running when you fire the M79 then it will actually go farther depending on your speed, it also does splash damage, and unlike the knife you don't lose your weapon after using it.A screen size in Soldat is approximately 50 metres. Please consider the fact that Soldat isn't supposed to be realistic, so if you start bringing up an argument that relates how far a person can actually throw a knife compared to how far a grenade launcher fires an explosive charge, you will be ignored.
Run backwards while doing rabbit hopping or however it is called, and throw your knife. It will look like it goes x2 faster.
This is just my opinion, but I believe the knife doesn't get thrown far enough. I believe it should have another meter or so added on to the distance that it can be thrown. Because guess what? If I can only throw a knife that far, I must have some bad muscular disabilities.
it doesn't get throw far enough but...
Though the problem is, the Knife is far more versatile than all the other secondaries. It outranks many weapons not just in terms of popularity, but in a way because of its usefulness.I think the Knife's a little too strong, damage reduction could be used, since its throwing range is good enough but its damage over such a long distance is too high. Other than that, it should be perfectly fine.
Fine as it is. Too good compared to LAW however, but that is not due to delay in LAW.

Sorry for doublepost, used to automerge.Quote from: Clawbug on February 14, 2009, 06:58:33 amFine as it is.
