Have you ever hit rock bottom?
« on: February 02, 2009, 05:45:31 am »
So here it is, like I said it would be.

have you ever been so down, that you felt there was no light to be found, that you would ever be able to get back on your feet again? Lost all hope, perhaps not even caring to go on. If you have, how did you manage to turn it around?

I have, and I'll post my story as this thread progresses. As for now, I'm actually quite interrested in hearing how you made it through.

poverty was when you had it the toughest? Are we talking actual poverty, or just a low tide in terms of economics?

A bad mushroom trip hinted at the possibility of a rock bottom, but it was all false. The hallucinations disappear and that feeling of depressive emptiness fades with time. I've never truly found anything that might be more than I could endure, though not for lack of trying.

My rock bottom will be loneliness. It's down there, and I'm not so far from it that I'd say I'm safe, but it's still a long way off. I'll tell you when I get there.

Financially, Emotional and Socially. I've seen the bottom.

Emotionally, I've probably been hit pretty bad, not so of social. Rose back from the bottom usually because I tend to forget when I'm feeling better, but I will remember when I sit down quietly or I get down again.

I have hit rock bottom, and stayed there for almost a year. But now I am slowly climbing out.

Moved to Switzerland when I was 9.

Had to learn a new language from scratch. Needless to say, the period which I didnt know the language, there was little social interaction.

After staying there for 5 years, I moved to Canada.
And the damn learning cycle restarts....

I was born in Seoul (capital in Korea), then when I was 6, I moved to Busan (another city in Korea), then when I was 10, I immigrated here, America, at Maryland. Then again, after another year and half, I moved again to NJ.

I never got to make real good friends much..... Only class mates... Except now in NJ...
I don't know, my dad thinks of moving again....

**I'll make more details later, I'm just kinda busy right now**

I'm only 16, and though my family is poor by most Americans' standards, I'm lucky to have lived a relatively trouble-free life. I haven't touched weed, I don't go to debauched parties, none of that. I had my emo/depressed phase a few years back, though. What pulled me out of it was getting to know two or three Catholics that are now my closest friends, together with my own faith finding strong anchor.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.

**Edit page**

This is when I was 5 So in Seoul, I had  a childhood girlfriend. We always went to school together and play together. We even helped out whoever was hurt or in trouble. And the best thing was that she lived right above my apartment. Happiest moment with her? She smooch/kissed me on some random day when I helped her walk out from her injury on her leg.

This is when I was 8~9 My dad's job was trasfered to Busan. I lived below my new friend's house. We played everyday, 24/7. We played outside, video game, whatever you name it. Our parents never minded about my friend or I sleeping over any day. We also were same classmates in the elementry school also. I was able to walk it off from separation from my childhood *girlfriend*. But then again, when I was ten, I had to move away... To here, America.

This is when I was 10~11 In America, I was really awkward toward everything. The whole system, language, interaction, I was literally an outcast. But one day, some came by me during lunch and ate with me. His name was Sang Lee and Marcus Morrison. We hanged out by playing soccer, and Game Cube. Since we lived in house that time, it was hard to have sleep over. But it didn't matter, because we were luckily in a same class and played together outside during luch time. And again, unfortunately, I had to move again, to where I currently live, NJ.

This is when I was 12~now I was sadly an outcast again when the school season started again. The sorta-southern and northern region had a huge difference. So I had to get accostumed to all those interactions again. I also had a hard time getting rid of "yall" and "ain't" for a while....

Well anyways, I do have more friends than I had before, but I still do really miss my old friends.... I really don't wish to move again....

'eh...happens to lots of people.  Thing is, it can make you a stronger and better person in the end.  Just gotta remember 'em after all.  You'll meet and leave loads of people over the course of your life - if you let things like that weigh you down, you won't be able to move forward and make your mark (hopefully happily) wherever you end up.

Yea, I've hit rock bottom a time or two.  It was a hell of a scrape to come back up, I gotta admit.  Not too glad I went through it, but definitely glad I got out.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

^ I sense banning for you in the future.

I tend to think I hit rock bottom, but I always happen to go lower.
I have several mental problems, stuff like "Manic depression" shit like that.
It also leads to chronic self esteem problems, so it's hard for me to rise up on my own
