Fancy comeback!

   Allright, been a while since I released ctf map last time.
   I've been doing this map for a while now, wanted it to be perfect
   still only thing missing there is waypoints.

EDIT* Yup now theres waypoints, thanks to cheesy.

Here's the first actual design:



About the map

    It's kind of like ctf_laos, theres alot open space in middle,
    but when you go to bases it gets a bit tighter.
    Graphix are little bit complicated. I wanted the bases look kind of flat
    unlike the middle area.

    Gameplay will be really fast, you can run to other's
    base in like 5-10 seconds, so it will be best for 2v2 or 3v3 matches.

    This map isn't mush bushpig friendly, but camping is still advantageous in bases.
    There is a possibility of spawn killing at the upper spawns, but still it is higher change
    to spawn in front of   lower route. Middle part doesn't have any colliders, so nade-spitters
    can enjoy their life there.

I must say nice polyarts with bridge and center roof and otherwise map looks nice too...

The thing that sucks here are those entrances into base: http://i40.tinypic.com/hwgux3.jpg

They are too small which means map is easy to defend on, which leads to boringness. Also it's demanding spawnkill to steal flag, thats never a good thing. I like to big open center area. But the bases need remaking, to prevent that stiffyness.

I did pay attention to the tightyness, thats why I removed that formation which was originally
in design. You can easily avoid nades which usually will be thrown to ground. Upper way is still however tight, because theres less spawns in upside. Which means the upway has a change of 15% of will be defended immediately when people spawns. The tight defense is still considerably sweet if you notice the easiness of escaping.

Map plays actually very cool :) all fits the theme and when you get some1 for waypointing, it will be veeery good map ;)

especially the unique layout at the middle bridge and also the outline polygons at base


i also like the shadings you used in the middle of map:) its not the most used colour on maps so it also makes it look even more unique


ive also downloaded the map and found that the gameplay is awesome and smooth

Isn't 6v6 too much for every map?
I tested this map yesterday and it seem'd to be enough with 8-10 players.

Interesting design. Cold colours.

good map, I thought it was made only with default scenerys... those backgrounds scenerys kinda lagged my pc

gameplay should be nice, the only thing I would change is the upper spawn, make their tunnel half the size.

Idea of those tight spawn is to have secured feeling and because the walls are close to each other its easy to rush from there. The only fragility is still the opportunity of spawn killing. Besides, spawn killing is inevitably every maps problem.

And what the flying fuck? Gamers shouldn't have loose computers. :D

yeah... those scenerys are realy huge
reducing the length of those tunnels would put players out of that hole faster, and back to action faster

ahh! one thing that helps processing, is to make all the unreacheable polys DC, you have a lot of them

look are quite nice on this map, though the gameplay is not. The map is way to bright so you don't really see anything(especially in the middle part). also to be able to grab the flag you need to spawn kill. at least thats what we noticed when playing it in #soldat.mapping

Well you must give the new maps a chance. At start they might feel a bit weird and players don't know how to play them. Fact is people are always against change, despite the fact that change is probably good in long run. This map doesn't have specialties that could make it unique.

I don't think Icebeam and Blade will make it among the public players. To be honest I didn't find Blade funny at all, there's still only two strict routes to use even with the bridges, you could've found so much better maps to add than it. Same thing goes with X. (only my opinion though)
Guardian and MFM are cool, except for the fact that the first version of MFM was way better. If you're looking for fun and uniqueness, why not add Coolbya? It has become a great map after the two new versions. Honestly speaking I'm not very satisfied with the new maps ):

It seems to me that the future of soldat is in STTFL - Soldat Throw The Flag League. S:

I don't find any problems with the brightyness.

And about the spawn killing again. Personally I don't give a damn about spawn killing. The rule against spawn killing is based on the thought of "its annoying off as pisshell" and its just like the rule in duels "Dont pick up medkits" .. Theyre both tacticts, and I bet you've found them funny when you use them yourselves. If medkits and spawnkills sucks so bad, why wont you remove medkits and put some spawnshield to soldat? Im not too much informated about the stuff if that's happened already so stfu if thats what your about to say.
