Your Username Origin
« on: February 17, 2009, 05:08:03 pm »
I've been here for a couple months now, and have seen a lot of different, and unique, usernames.

My question is, where did you get your name from, and why did you pick it?

I guess I'll go first; "Gladiator 2" is your callsign on Marine R.C.T. Comms in the video game Close Combat: First To Fight. I picked that 'cause I love that game.

What Revelations 6:8 SHOULD say: "And behold a pale horse, and his name who sat on him was Death... and all of the United States Marine Corps followed with him."

Back when I was on stickslaughter I was joebob. Then when I went to neopets it became joebob116 because joebob was taken. Then when I went to stickpage I thought I'd be all clever and come up with a name from a book that I'd read. The Inferno was the book I picked cause it was awesome. Then I added an i onto the beginning because it seemed like the thing to do. Been that ever since.

Back in 2003, when I was ten, I started dabbling with HTML and always wanted to make a free online flash gaming site, like miniclip.com or neodelight.com (before neodelight was sold and raped). I kept calling everything I did by JRG Productions. (JRG are my initials) My good friend Mike, the father of my brother set me up a basic webhosting account on one of his servers. I couldn't think of anything for the domain, so I chose http://ww.jrgp.org .

And ever since, every username I have has jrgp in it in some way or another.

It's my name, pretty simple.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.

Kilroy is an old what you might call meme from the 40s (WWII) where you spraypaint a face looking over a wall and have "Kilroy was here" under it. I changed it to Killroy to have uniqueness and added the lieutenant for more uniqueness (it tended to be taken)

My mom and dad got it on and 9 months later, called me Jerich. I was too lazy to think of names so I just used it. But it looked kinda dull in games so I made all my usernames with all caps, hence, JERICH.

Well thanks for clearing that one up.
If you were asking me I'd guess you registered that username when drunk off your ass.

Its the name of a band
But that's so shallow! At least make up a cooler story

You could always check out the wikipedia page for an eye-opener...

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

I felt bored one day so I read the the dictionary again. And then I remembered that I needed a new name because my old one was actually just me doing a face -> keyboard -> roll.

Heh, you know, if you add an "o" to your name, making it Jericho, you could say you were named after a gun (Jericho 941)

I don't know why I thought of that.  ;)

Why "Espadon?" Isn't that a fish?

Espadon in French is swordfish, in Spanish is broadsword; both have basis in Latin spathe, a sword, not fish.
