Cant change the resolution

I've just installed and registered soldat and everything's allright except for the thing that I cant change the resolution. I select it in the setup (although the setup window says I will be able to do so after registering) launch the game and what I see is the menu in selected by me resolution, then I join some server and the game is 640 x 800 again..  the chat and health and ammo bars get smaller but the main game screen remains the same. Tried switching the video compatibility on and off but its no use.. any ideas?

it is supposed to be so, you cant do much about that, the gfx-es are being resized, but the screen is bigger

the text isn't resized. however, the resolution only resizes the images.
