F 4 | | e n does have a point although its a very high demand on such a free game. It COULD make things but although it could not.

F4||3N I know what you are talking about. soldat was something special, it had a heart, now mm is gone and the game is getting worse as I remember it.
the comunity is kinda dead, things are going slowly. It's still a good game, but what happend to the spirit, what happend to soldat is revolutionising gaming?
well, some of the things you say are true F4||3N, some points may be wrong, but it feels like everyone just ignore the situation.
Yes, Soldat is a free game, and therefor we have no reason to complain, but can't you see, F4||3N CARE about soldat, he doesn't say anyone is doing a bad job, he is saying what we all should see.

so F4||3N, you have my thoughts, even though I understand why people see it as ''whine'' cuz that's kinda what it is

Technically it isn't a free game if hes asking for $9 for registration. So, what has MM done with all the money he is profiting towards the game?

Even though I understand his talent must be used to make ''better games'' feel abandoned, is the money he get from soldat used on other games?

I understand your point, but I still disagree with you.

Don't tell me I'm wrong. That makes you a troller.

Biscuiteer is the only one that's actually backed up his reply.
You mean he's the only one who wrote a decent sized post?

Quote
And the only reason I keep going on about it;
all you's are telling me is it will take too long, or it will cause even more bugs, or disrupt mods, or weapon balancing.
In terms of Soldat, releases are usually quite far apart. Bugs do occur, that's just a part of programming, and with new features comes excessive testing. Mods, well, yeah, anything new added will disrupt a mod, no shit. Weapon balancing, well, I think the beta team has a hard enough time doing that at the moment, no need to screw them over with vehicles or new weapons.

Quote
You're not saying it's impossible. If it's not impossible, why not give it a go?
And nebs, I'm pretty sure I stated I'm not a programmer. And I never claimed to be one.
Sure, it's not impossible, but it's more of a question of if it's worth doing it.

Quote
I know I'm not the only one that wants the stuff I'm talking about. You don't have to destroy Soldat to do it. Why not release the source code, or what ever it is. Cause I'm sure someone would want to give it a try. And if it works make a Soldat 2? Then all you tards that would rather Soldat not evolve, can keep playing it.
If a game needs to evolve to remain a good game, it is not a good game. And I doubt Soldat would be developed any faster if it was open source, although it might be less buggy.

Quote
If you think about it, kids don't even play this game. Everyone seems to be over 18, and most of you seem like programmers. And only like Soldat for the programming aspect of it.
No and no. There are people under 18 in this community, and there's only a few people who know how to program in this community. You probably get the impression that a lot of people do from a large amount of programmers in Soldat hanging out on this board.

Quote
The Soldat community is like a school yard. Everyone wants to be in the "cool group". No one wants their own opinion. If someone important says an idea, even if it sucks everyone wants it in. If someone not important says something, they're "noobs".

Stupid children. -,-''
I think you're failing to acknowledge that other people have differing yet valid opinions to you, since you also said that
Quote
if you disagree. Then you're a turd.
in the first post. Also, you didn't have to be so sarcastic and agressive in your first post. If you're openly hostile first, you'd have to expect to be fired back at, so don't complain when you get hit.

I can totlay agree with fallen and i think it has to be argumented! There are not only bugs fixed! I get stucked into rock or w/e everytime i play a DM, grenades are jumping all over the map etc...Go fix these bugs first before doing anything else and yes, all the money we payd for the registration went for something else, maybe NASA or something. Who knows? Michal does! I have payd for it to support You, Michal! But come on, u cant go to casino next day. If we would start calculating how much money has this game brought to him, you'd all shut your mouth about "we should be happy". Its his job god damnit, open your eyes!

Oh!, If youre about to delete this post, please tell me where i can post this, im afraid theres no topic we could speak about "not thaqt good" things in soldat. Theres only a game suggestion forum, which i totaly pointless, still havet got an ansver why my suggestion couldnt be relased http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=30508.0

This game is not his job.  Maybe you should open your eyes on that fact, son.

As for your suggestion, you seemed perfectly satisfied with the script suggestion you got.  "Scripting it wouldn't be so hard", in your exact words.  So let's not try and make a bigger issue out of something you can handle so simply, 'eh?

As for F4||3N, he may have received a warmer welcome had he not resorted to insults and childish antics.  Seriously - coming in and calling people noobs and turds doesn't exactly make you look like someone to listen to.  In this topic we don't need people stirring up the pot with asinine name calling.  It's a public beta release so we can get feedback from the public and fix glaring problems.  Do it in a civilized manner, please.

As was already stated, if there are issues with things like invisible players, send in demos so the problem can be pinpointed and fixed.  Show us where map errors, etc. are.  B***hing about donations won't solve anyone's problems.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

Please explain "this game is not his job", whose job is it then? Why the 14$ registration then? Its a lot of money he earned with it, he could hire a few scripters working on it. I can find only Enesce here and hes a god for many of you. Maybe because hes the only one working on it? The game could be much better and it would make more people play it. How many people play soldat anyways?

And no, i wasnt perfectly satisfied on "Scripting it wouldn't be so hard", maybe you should open your eyes or use glasses and turn sarcasm detector on. If you're so smart, tell me why it COULD NOT be relased.

Thank you, F.

By job, he means EnEsCe's not obliged to work on it, more he does it of his own free will and in his spare time.

If you want Soldat to remain freeware, then this is the cost.

And since your idea can be scripted (someone just has to sit down and write the script), EnEsCe isn't going to spend time implementing it when he could be finding and removing bugs. Also, since 1.5.0d, the latest release, is a Release Candidate, no more features will be put into the next final version.

Yep hes getting a nice payment for his "spare time" :) I want something to be done with all the money we "invested" in it. Has it been wasted for other games?

EnEsCe gets no money for what he does. All money paid for registrations go to MM. And I doubt that if we paid MM or EnEsCe to develop Soldat that they'd really do anything differently anyway.

Mk, the clueless flaming troll has been dealt with.

So far all reported bugs have been fixed, except for the Weapon Drop bug. I still need more information regarding this one, specifically a method to reproduce the bug since I can't seem to ever get it to occur to myself. Invisible players bug has just been fixed.

Well, the only method I know of reproducing it is to get someone to rejoin the server constantly. It's bound to happen eventually, that way.

I've tried it today actualy,
someone joined when his ID was 3, my weapon got droped.
then he quit, reconneced, got the same ID - 3, and this time my weapon didn't fall down.
It might be because I moved to another place on the map, which gives another prove that it's conneced to something with zipping the map  ::)

I don't know if it depend on the slot because to me, it happened when someone joined whereas I was the only one on the server playing on Hormone. Then someone left and rejoined and I dropped my weapon again. At that time I think I was at the right of the map :d

Its definitely not slot related, all the demo's I have of it occurring are happening with no pattern.
