In AIT
« on: February 28, 2009, 12:20:31 am »
I graduated basic, I am in Alabama right now learning about ordnance. I am busy as hell, I get about an hour or less personal time during the weekday. Weekends I just chill as much as possible.I am gonna put up pictures of crap I did in basic and whatnot. What did I miss here? How is everyone doing?

I am fine.  Oh and did you hear the new soldat version is coming out very shortly. Too bad for the -5 Steyr bullets. :'(
Lounge has been fairly busy mate, alot of new threads, some of which were quite interesting, others remakes of old stuff.

Grats on graduating basic, I hope your having fun, and looking forward to seeing some pictures. :)

Dude, where ya at in the state?  I'm down in Bama as well, and I hope you didn't get hit by any tornadoes today.

I'm doing alright, can't speak for anyone else though, heh.  Modem burnt out, hopped onto someone else's wireless, busy with school/work as usual.  Same ol' same ol'.

Meet me for a beer and I'll fill you in on the details.  ;)
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

I don't think that 14 year olds are allowed to consume alcohol in Alabama, Sir Jeremy.

Yeah noobface I heard that through the grapevine in irc.

Geo I am in Redstone Arsenal, way up north in the state. As of right now I am not allowed off post. When that changes depends on when I get to study stuff like the Ordnance Creed and chain of command besides the massive loads they dump on us. Hopefully I will only be here for about 7 more weeks.

Hmm I've been to an area around Redstone at the Air Force/NASA thingy for a camp. My friend stole wireless internet from there on his PSP. At least I think it was, near Huntsville?

Nice to see you again †. I can't really say much that has been going on since pretty much all I do is chill in The Lounge. Apparently there's a new version coming? That's cool. I didn't even know about that.

I've been working though.

I don't know you yet, but welcome back. I'm the latest Lounge lizard around here.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.

Ok I finally remembered I promised pictures:

First day we got lined up and we had to sound of our name, rank and line number(I think) for the first sergeant.
Click
Then we got transported to our barracks, the entire time the drill sergeants yelling at us about how we are about to be broken. Then when the buses stopped we had to haul ass with like 60-70 pounds of crap on us. I actually tripped while running, I landed on my wrist and it hurt for 2 weeks.
Click
We did like 80 push ups. Then we had to secure our gear and run into our platoon meeting area. First day was scary as hell. Towards the end of my cycle we got to see another company do the first day scare. It's always hilarious when its not you.
Click

We got did bayonet training on a FREEZING day, at least now I know what makes the grass grow.
Click

Rifle stuff:
Well we zeroed in our weapons. Then we got had to qualify with them a few weeks later. My score sucked that day, not being able to see from snow glare and numb hands don't help anyone shoot. Later on in boot we got to do other stuff like play with CCOs(Close combat Optics) and a convoy live fire exercise. We also got go use stuff like night vision/lasers, 50 cal., M240B, M249, and I got to handle but not fire a MK19

Some of you that are around military people may have heard about the gas chamber. This is one day that is fun as hell but hurts like hell as well. They get about 12 privates in a small room that is just filled with CS gas(tear gas) then they make you take off your gas mask. They keep you in there for about 2-4 minutes The first 15 seconds of breathing the gas I couldn't inhale which scared the hell out of me. Then I just sat there and coughed my brains out as I felt all my exposed skin and my lungs burn like the towns senior hooker. As we walked out of the chamber my drill sergeant pushed me into a wall for fun. They like to get throws and shoves in on "hands on" training days.
Click

We now have to get taught how to give people an IV. So we got to stick needles in each other, that was a good day.
Click

On Thanksgiving we got served by all the higher ups. The Command Sergeant Major gave me potatoes and my First Sergeant gave me corn. :3  <3
Click

We had a few courses we got to run through, fun as hell. I wish I had pictures of us repelling off the "Warrior Tower" but I guess they forgot the camera that day.

Click]  (To the right the only two good looking chicks in my entire company. Seriously Army women will make you hate anything with a gash, ugly dikes with chips on their shoulder.)

My platoon in a Drill and Ceremony competition. We didn't practice it that much because according to my drill sergeant "That s**t is gay as hell."
Click

In case of a crash I can use my pants as a flotation device.
Click
That day we just swam around with dummy rifles and LBVs. It was fun stuff.

If you know any military person you know someone that can eat an entire meal in less than 2 minutes.
Check out the chow hall, besides your bunk the only thing you have to look forward to in basic.

One of my drill sergeant, DS Ingram. An infantry man with alot of combat experience. Funny as hell as well, everyone he smoked us(Dropped us for push-ups, pulled us out the barracks to do whatever crazy exercise he could think of) he would always yell stuff that just cracked me the hell up. Him pissed off was scary though, very scary. He was a great DS though. Also he is holding my rifle in that picture, I was asking him something and he told me to give him my rifle then he gave us a very long talk about all sorts of cool stuff and stories.

Another thing you learn in basic is how to wait and wait some more. Seriously I think you have to have so many days logged waiting in line to pass boot.

Random pics of me:
Helping out on the Teamwork building course
Dry run on the convoy live fire.
Fixing a malfunction in my rifle, blank rounds jam up almost every shot... I hate blanks.
Getting back on a truck after expending all my rounds, my companies commander just tossed up the camera, took the picture and gave me a little nod and a smirk. That kind of stuff messing with your mind in basic. Because they make you scared to look at COs and NCOs as anything less than a demigod you can't even look at.

Tons more I did but don't have pictures, I got stories and crap like that. Just ask what you want to know. But if you really want to know what basic is about only the shower walls could tell you.  [pigtail]

Oh and also I went to basic with a porn "star" Jolie Rain. I helped her zero in her rifle actually. When we found out she did porn we got on some guys phone that  he snuck and looked it up. It was her and we laughed nonstop at her. Guys would even yell out "Jolie Rain" in formation with drill sergeants around.

Private Pyle!

Yeah when I was there we were pretty out in the middle of nowhere. We passed the time on flight simulators and crawling around in the mud (red mud is so weird) but you can't do that so much. Blowing stuff up is fun though.

What the hell? They still do bayonet training? I did not think that people still went into battle with bayonets.

Well it's not like they're going to be running at them with bayonets.
