I think that's called guilt not generosity.

I once gave someone a dollar and told them that they didn't have to pay me back. It was like stepping into a whole new world of good deeds.

A Christian propagandist was handing out church flyers. I offered to help him hand them out so he gave me half of his and I went and dumped them all in a recycling bin.

Generosity abounded, I spared 400 odd pieces of paper from being torn up, burned, or and hastily stuffed into the pockets of harassed commuters, only to be disgarded later. That evening I watched the sun set in the most beautiful and vivid colours... and I knew I had done good. A small tear rolled out of the corner of my eye and I felt whole.

Uhh, hmmm, One time I punched my friend in the eye and I offered to take him to sick bay. I was generous enough to do that :D

I gave away a small matchbox ambulance that carried a great deal of significance to me. It brought a tear to my eye later when I suddenly felt the waves of regret washing over me.

I helped build someone a house in Jamaica.

Our church does a missions trip every 2 years and brings a group of people, this year we had enough to make 2 teams for 2 houses, I was on one team and we made a homeless woman a house for her and her son.  By our standards it isn't much, but they absolutely loved it.

Just 2 days ago I helped a family move out of their house, and load all their furniture and stuff into a big U-haul truck.  Was nice, and helped those muscles. 8)

Problably not the most generous thing, but the that's what I thought of when I saw the title.

I had a server in Chicago that I didn't need any more.  I had to pay $50 to have it shipped back to me from Chicago but I didn't have a use for it at home (I have a bunch like it here that just sit in a rack in the basement, occasionally being used for testing)... so I paid them $50 for shipping and gave them jrgp's address.

When I left for basic I gave my brother my car and my family my computer. Then I decided to give my buddy(Who really deserved SOMEONE to be nice to him for once) my Wii with all my games and stuff. In total he got about $800 worth of gaming stuff.

When I was a kid, we would go from house to house collecting various stuff that people didn't need, and then sell them to raise money for charity. Atleast thats what we told people. I think we spent it all on candy, can't really remember.

Well, once I gave a homeless guy, with a face that looked like leather, a $20 USD bill.
I also do free websites for people; they usually seem very great full, especially my web design teacher for doing a bunch of side stuff for her for free.

Again, thanks so much!

It's just the long pizza box sized metal thing. The monitor and keyboard are like 15 years old and I've had them forever. And that still doesn't matter at all since I'm only using it over the network and rarely touch it directly. I'm giving you a 25 point warning for being an absolute jerk. FLAB gave me that out of the kindness in his heart.

Threads like these are depressing. Twenty people doing their best to detail their strength of character and yet not a single one seems genuinely interested in conversation. It's like you've all found the great fountain of braggery and struggle to tell your own short, middling stories of selfless generosity before the thread inevitably collapses under the weight of its own uselessness.

Take the time to learn about these people. A-4-year-old went to Jamaica to build houses for Christ's sake (;)), ask him about it. Or about One Gram's stint in basic. Or jrgp's websites. I can't fathom how you might all complain about the lack of community on this forum when you aren't even interested in the community.

You can find me in the masturbation thread. At least that one is somewhat more interesting (and yes, 4yo, Gram, and jrgp, I actually want to hear about your lives; take the time to answer, with pictures and words of gratitude for my interest, preferably).

Okay, VijchtiDoodah:

Stuff I've made:
  • http://www.jrgp.org/ - Old flash gaming site I made in 2004 (I was 11). I used to love flash games and played them all the time and tried to get as many games as possible on that site. Now I'm not so interested and haven't done a major change to it in years. I do use the domain for all my stuff, though.
  • http://soldat.jrgp.org/ - My old Soldat fansite, it has some of my maps/mods/interfaces and a little more. It used to have a much more interesting layout, but now it's just simple for emphasis on content.
  • http://tms.jrgp.org/ - My Soldat mapping site. I had wanted to make a site like this since I created soldat.jrgp.org and eventually Ivel motivated me in 2007.
  • http://stupidasfuck.com - A story submitting site I made in early 2009. Not popular at all.
  • http://zcsp.jrgp.org/ - Little site I made for my friend since 1st grade, Zack when we were in 7th. Hasn't been updated for like ever, but still works.
  • I've also made a somewhat popular porn site, PM me over AIM/MSN if you want to see it.
  • http://www.jrgp.us/ - points to my local static IP address. I host some stuff on it and use it to get into my computer and access files from afar.

  • You can see an older version of my game site here, and never finished ideas for a new layout here.
  • There are a few projects I did for web design here, the npp lessons one being something my teacher had me do in place of a normal project, which she gave me 100% for. (meh, it looks horrible in anything except ie7 :()

Stuff I've done for others:
  • http://www.wphsclassof79.com/ - I made the layout. A lot of CSS. Uses many layerd background images made in Fireworks
  • http://www.wphs.ocps.net/ - I occasionally update pages' content. (my teacher logs me in as herself, which gives me access to the site's control panel
  • http://writewaydesigns.com/ - Over the years, I've changed and added dynamic features to my mom's site. She's made probably 97% of it, though.
  • I've also helped random people out with sites in the past, I can't really remember much about them though

There are also loads of old templates and site ideas floating around on some of my old hard drives and massive .tar.gz archives that a probably corrupt, but oh well.

Not popular at all.
Probably because you've already got ads at the top of the page before you've even had time to get any traffic at all.  The biggest detractor from a new website are ads. that's why websites like fuckmylife, which got popular around the time you put SAF online, got popular around the time you put SAF online.

Kudos to everyone that used their generosity in means of hard work and time spent helping. I honestly can't say I'll invest time in helping people who are not needy or close to me unless it has any slight gain for me in it.

When it comes to simple gifts or money though, I'm pretty generous (when I can afford it). I just bought a stolen subwoofer from some guy and tipped him 60$ just for installing it in the car, which is pretty simple.
When I'm broke I'm cheapskate as hell - to the point of lying about not having 5$ to chip in for a pizza.

Took a court case for someone else. Ended up getting me in some deep shit, but I wouldn't change it. Although I guess it wasn't very generous since I wouldn't change it, hmm?
Maybe on a grander scale, I would have to say that giving some people some of my time when they needed it more than me.

Stuff I've made...

Hmmm...Those look good for a start, but they could definitely use some work. Why website designing? Of all the things you might do with programming experience, why that?
I'm not sure. When I was very little I was watching my mom learn and make sites with basic HTML, so I learned that, then javascript, php, mysql and ran with that. I'm comfortable with a few non-web related languages, but haven't had any good idea of what to make with them yet.
There are other worlds than these

The most generous thing I did was in my latter year of High school, when some kid tripped in a hole and hurt her foot, I got suspended for that, which is part of the reason I went to Home Schooling. The principal was a dumbass.

Hmm.

I think the most generous thing I've ever done was about half a year ago. There was a baby ringneck dove in our garden, and it was injured, limped and it even fell onto its back a couple of times, it was horrible. Thankfully we have a vet in our village about five streets away from my home, so I scooped it up into my hands very gently, and carried it there.

I phoned up a couple of days later to see how it was doing, and unfortunately it had to be put down. It was upsetting, but at least I did what I could for the little thing.
