Human Shield (crisis,the punisher,splinter cell).
« on: March 08, 2009, 02:24:52 am »
For example, you can grab Enemys and use them as a human shield which really helps to prolong your lifeā€¦

who to use?

press "f" close to the enemy for it uses it as shield
press "f" an throw the enemy(in others, in grenades,pits..)

you need Fists to use it:(to another weapon it is optional):
ex:

primary weapon = mp5
secundary weapon = fists

---
advantages, disadvantages

-more defese
-slow movement
-more bink
-1 hit cancel the shield.
-you cannot jump, crouch or go prone.

Erm...No?

Slows down gameplay, VERY annoying to be held by someone, and finally, NO.

Isn't worth the effort.
I mean the effort of getting close enough to the enemy only to grab him and live a few seconds longer (and get M79'd in the face as soon as your shield gets useless)
And the effort of coding this whole thing. Soldat is too fast paced for those kinds of tricks.

Using enemies as human shields is not only a fun extra, it would be useful to cover an ally(CFT,INF)and obtain an extra defense.

in friendly fire off, human shield functions similar to the Bullet Vest.

in friendly fire on, Human shield of the one good protection.

therefore , is not very useful against some weapons(Barret,m2..)

it does not need the shield more than? press "s" to kill using your weapon or press "X" to kill using your hands

in this way, punch would be a useful weapon. ;D

I'd say no, because it would actually ruin the sportsmanship ingame because of whining and complaining, and I can think of a few things some people would say.

I think that projectiles should still collide with dead people, I remember killing someone in front of me and then using their dead body as a meat shield from grenades, or vice versa throwing grenades at the dead body so any nades close by would blow up. It saddened me when MM took that out. For the idea you have, f11. But the idea of meat shields in-game is a great tactic.

you can always kill enemy players with the butt of your weapon using the 'S' key(m79,law)

Bodies dissapear after respawn.
Imagine spawn camper with fresh bodies all around the place.

you could only use "still alive enemy",not dead body,
Because it would be very easy to obtain a shield.
they remember that it is not very easy to arrive close to the enemies.

it is not very easy to arrive close to the enemies.

Which is exactly why i think this feature shouldnt be added. :S
How often can you punch the enemy to death? Very rarely. Same thing with human shield. It's not worth adding simply because it's too hard to execute and it won't be used most of the time.
You have better chance of surviving by killing enemies from the distance, or at least with a chainsaw, than trying to get a human shield.

1- not,It is similar to bullet vest, it is an additional defense, not a super shield from Cs-1.6
2- the shield protects its front, to the other parts is vulnerable .
3- it is funny for me :D

I say no, as this would be a highly useless, rarely usable feature. I'd say development time should be spent on better things than this.

not much rare, the times we see players killing with the ChainSaw, knife, spars-12.
it is not easy if to approach to the enemies, but also it is not very difficult, this only demands practical.
with this improvement, punch would be a good one sets the short distance.

Chainsaw fires faster than fists do, therefore it's easier to try and hit someone with, and at least guarantees a kill. The fists, if you ever manage to get a kill, leave you defenceless. The only time you actually fist someone (usually) is when you're standing in the same spot as them and can only use the butt of your gun to hit them.

Knife and Spas-12 are terrible examples. You throw the knife at people. And the Spas is a fucking gun, has nothing to do with melee attacks.

Still say no.

All the games you have mentioned are singleplayer games! Anything that restricts a players movement in a multiplayer game is generally a bad thing.
