Buff them all. The whole idea of a powerup is to make you powered up. Buff them all.

I still oppose this, and not, bonuses shouldn't be overpowered, is the flamer overpowered? No. Is predator overpowered? No. Is berserker overpowered? No.
They all got weak points, the pred cannot jet without getting spotted, and isn't really invisible, just transparent. The flamer, ugh, the flamer, short range, takes away your secondary no matter what it was, can't be thrown away, weak damage, as you have to keep the enemy under longer bursts for it to actually do more damage. Heck even the vest, get an m79, shoot as close as 3 meters away from the sucker and he's dead. As to the berserker, he loses health just as he would normally, so it's just a BONUS, and not overpowered.

The bonuses don't have to be equal. That's why they're bonuses. But right now cluster grenades are worse than regular grenades, and at least that should be fixed.

But now that you mention it, most of the bonuses could be buffed. Predator can be seen very easily when moving, not to mention that using jet is an instant suicide button, and being a predator on low health makes no difference anyways between visibility and invisibility. I say at least make jets invisible as well and increase overall alpha value a little.

Flamegod... sigh. Invincibility is good. Short, yeah, but good. Flamer... I would probably choose the Minigun over this. No damage and extremely short range. I mean, at least you can actually make a couple of kills every now and then with the Minigun. You can keep the short range of the flamer, just fix the lag problem and buff up the damage like hell.

Berserker and and vest are fine. Berserker however has an annoying filter effect that makes everything hard to see.

This filter effect also happens when you use predator and Flame God bonuses.

For this reason, I changed the Interface-gfx/back.bmp to a complete transparent colour, so that my vision won't be affected while having a bonus. On a side note, the menu box etc will also disappear, leaving only the words and other icons.



Back to cluster grenades...

Buffing suggestions so far:
1) More Damage
2) More Shrapnel
3) Wider Radius
4) Time-based explosion (or shrapnel or cluster or both)
5) Shrapnel have some bounce ability
6) Ability to impact directly on opponents
7) Able to switch between normal and cluster nades

On a side note, making modded weapons that fire cluster nades at high firing rate and high bullet speed is really deadly and very fun.

Berserker makes you kill 4 times faster against enemies who dont kill that fast.
Predator makes you invisible against enemies who are not invisible.
Flamer makes you invincible against enemies who are not invincible.
Vest makes you live longer against enemies that dont live that long.
Clusters give you shitty grenades against enemies who have better grenades than you.

Hmmm... which one is the odd one out?

Also, as STM said, you can change your interface-gfx to make the filter clearer or not there at all. I like some of those buffing ideas as well.

Yes :) The problem I have is, that when I am at this zombiesurvival the cluster is the best bonus I can buy ;D

I sometimes hate clusters, although they can pull off some crazy stunts when rebounding. I rekon they should be buffed only a little bit.

And berserker doesn't have an exact rate of kills to be compared with a normal soldat, it depends on what weapon you're using, and all other variables as with the normal soldat, including your speed of movement, bullet speed etc etc...
And it IS a tactical weapon get that into your head, buffing it would throw off the balance in a game, really hard.

What im saying is that all the bonuses give you some kind of advantage in a 1-on-1 situation except the clusters. Maybe you should read over that list before you post.

Also, all weapons have tactical uses, get that into your head. Oh and read the first post. Again.

I dont think statements like "it would be overpowered" are valid in this topic, seeing as other bonuses do just that. I dont see anybody complaining that the berserker box is overpowered. [retard]

Clusters arent in the regular weapon balance. Theyre a bonus item, and the worst bonus out of them all. :|

How the f... would they "throw off the balance in a game"? By being a useful bonus?
Atm they're a bonus which many players prefer to avoid 'cause clusters suck, and I think those "bonus" nades should be at least somewhat more powerful than regular nades.

Also, there's no real tactic in soldat (normalmode), except the 3x "S" tactic (steyr, stay & spray).

I just happen to have a different opinion and I stick to it cause I see that it's true, through experience...The clusters are  good and even rock when you know how to use them, so instead of whining how they are, and avoiding them, take that bonus kit, and make use of it, and practice...Genius.

I think its already been stated that cluster grenades are inferior to regular grenades and no ammount of practice will change that.

Even in a 1on1 situation you can easily just spread your enemy away by throwing the clusternade in front of him. Yes, the cluster is a good bonus, it can kill very good in 1on1 situations and even against many enemies you do damage (sometimes not that much) + you stop them what makes it easier for you to aim and they loose their advantage of being fast ...

Really, who says clusters suck doesnt train it. You know that you arent good with a weapon that you dont train / not much or even worse avoid. Same for the clusters, just look what they have for you!  [pigtail]
